I agree that Techart kits typically ruin the lines of the 911. However, I do like some of the Ruf kits.

In the situation that the OP is referring to I think that the aftermarket companies create those cars to showoff everything they offer. Not very many people buy every last bit and piece. However, I agree with you that when they do it usually doesn't look so good.

I think another poster had it down when they said that the aftermarket folks generally can't match the surface complexity to look OEM-quality. I think that's a very apt observation.

I think RUF does the best work in the business, but I saw a beautiful RUF 993 Turbo at a car show receltly, that had been finished in the last 8 months. The fit and finish of the RUF panels were not quite up to OE standards. Just a little wavy on the air dam.

lets not forget about shelby, callaway and others who have improved on automakers designs. not only in the apperence but performance you will never see coming out of a factory, probably for reasons such as warranty and the fact that its a small market. you can dislike this all you want as long as there have been cars there are goning to be people like these making them better, and sometimes maybe not so better. you can not tell me that the new shelby cobra is not a nicer car then the mustang gt.
