^ Boxter Spider, Boxter Spider, Boxter Spider.
Boxster Spyder with non bucket sport seats, a/c, and stereo could make a dd if you have secure work parking where the top would not HAVE to be on all the time. 70-80K well optioned Spyder. 70-80K 06'-08' non PDK Carrera S. A few low 80's 6 speed new Carrera S' out there. PDK adds up the sterling. |

Daily Driver = Carerra
Weekend/play toy = Boxster Spyder (not good for rain) The boxster spyder is such a great car. One of the best, if not the best handling and funniest cars you can drive under 100k in stock form. Period. |

Its just hard to call a car a poor mans anything when it starts above 50K And you gotta respect any car company that puts out an entry level model that performs like the Boxster does. Now me, I prefer the Cayman S over all other Porsche models, but the spyder is close. If it had a real roof probably would get one, but that "doo rag" thing is not cutting it.

I agree that the top is not good looking at all, but with the top off it really does not look "girly' ? The GT humps really let the quarter line ride up high, getting rid of the small rear the boxster has.

Hey guys, thanks a lot for your advice, I agree with you, the only issue is:
the price for boxter spyder (mec) + Audio + A/C = Carrera PDK, so probably the carrera is a better deal, more expensive car for 70% of MSRP. I really don't know, tomorrow I have to make my decision, keep posting. Best regards. |

Guys, thanks for your opps, but, is that much difference between a normal carrera pdk versus carrera S pdk??
What should I expect for resale value between 2011 boxter spyder and 2010 carrera??? Thanks in advance |

Resale, don't buy a Porsche for that. The Spyder might hold its value a little better because of limited build, but don't hold your breath. Porsche has got to be the worst when it comes to losing value when you drive it off the lot. Maybe with the exception of limited run models like GT's and the Turbo. Buy pre-owned if you can. |

The 2010 Carrera PDK, cost as an used card, has the same value than the Boxter Spyder, that's one of the main reasons I think it's a good deal.
But still not 100% sure, the boxter spyder is the top of the line, the carrera PDK is the bottom of the line. So I don't know. Posts are appreciatted |

Yes the S is the Carrera of choice for myself but I bet you would never get a non-S Carrera to let you down. That car has more balls than most can handle. If you are a serious track guy or just wanting the higher hp model then look at the S.
Base Carrera/ add Tubi exhaust-a bit too quite IMO, maybe some light wheels and you would have plenty of car to make huge grins and quicker than most think. I think you can get paddles on the non-S model now too. g/l edit: From Zero- Sixty.com 2009 Porsche 911 Carrera 0-60 mph 4.1 Quarter mile 12.7 2009 Porsche 911 Carrera S 0-60 mph 3.8 Quarter mile 12.4 As you an see the 355 hp in the non-S holds it's own re: speed. ^+1, and to add to this opinion, if you were to compare C2 with PDK against C2S in manual form then you would find little or no difference in their respective performances up to about 200km/h, after that point I believe the extra power will make itself felt and the C2S would pull on the C2.
P.S. Don't make me laugh that the Boxster is a poor man's 911. Yes it's a cheaper Porsche with inferior performance but in many respects it's a better handling product with superior balance. |

at the end of the day, the 911 is always more practical, classier looking, more room, and you get to experience the unique rear engine layout. if this is my money and I want a porsche, i would do the 911 even if it is the base model. but try to swing for the s if you can. |
