New angle of what? We have established it's not a looker.
Just hope you can get the options you want. Hell the fact that this is coming with a manual is wild. CF roof looks rad at least. Best looking part of the whole damn car haha.

Then you haven't followed the G87 forum closely, it will not be standard on base model(G87 is getting a lot more options than F87). Plus they already do this on other cars, so it must make sense to BMW. M carbon roof is a $3000 option on M850. Other markets have carbon roof option on various models as well. In Canada you can option M carbon roof on a M340i for $1900.

What is this shit color? Makes me want to die of boredom.
Car looks okay-ish at this angle. Idk … my first reaction though was it looked like a computer render at low settings. F87 looks so so so much better. I seriously need to see the car in a different color. This color fucking blows and sucks at the same time. |

I might be one of the few but that colour doesn't do it any favours, hard to see the body lines and the black bit on the lower bumper looks awkward. Hopefully this is not the final product as it looks unfinished

I think people fall into this trap once a new generation appears. In this case , this is the 2nd generation of the M2 and it is very normal to compare it with the original one. This happens all of the time in life , not just in cars ! Looks are subjective as always , everyone can have an opinion , i personally think we should be grateful for this model as it keeps the traditional M car alive, And what did you expect ? To be the same ? whats the point ? Anyway , I think it will be a worthy successor , yes its a bit bigger and heavier than the F87 but its still a compact M car. There is a couple of reason the E30 M3 is loved that much , yet one of them is because it was really the first M3 , which created the Legend afterwards. People will always compare the M3s , every next gen is faster etc , which makes the E30 M3 slow nowadays, yet its the most desirable of all !
I will definetely add the G87 LCI in my garage next to my cs ! There’s no real “last classic.” Classics are made constantly. Every generation has a fan group that consider that model to be a “classic.” Imagine that the new upcoming H80 M3 launched today. There’s going to be a 16 year old kid who will love it and will dream of owning one someday. Fast forward 10-15 years, that kid worked hard and has enough money to buy an M3 of his own. The H80 M3 he fell in love with 15 years earlier will be considered by them a “classic” It’s all relative, and a classic is made every single day ! The following text is from an article on BMWBLOG - Just to understand why this keeps happening with the generations , people tend to compare everything to what they know so far. In a recent interview with Australian magazine Boss Hunting, Markus Flasch expressed his hope that the M2 CS will go down that route. When asked what car from today’s line-up will be regarded as icons 40 years from now, his answer was focused on the M2 CS: “That’s a tricky question because all of our products can be future classics. But if I had to pick only one I’d say the current BMW M2 CS. It doesn’t have a predecessor, it’s young, wild, crisp, and incredibly fast and if you’re a diehard petrol head you can order the M2 CS with a manual transmission.” So, apart from the manual transmission, the fact that the M2 CS doesn’t have a predecessor also counts according to Flasch. And he has a point. People tent to consider ‘the first of its kind’ more important than everything that came afterwards and you can see that even in the E30 M3 and its value, as a matter of fact. And there are other examples as well. The next M2 will be great , it will have a different character for sure than the first one , but thats not bad. its just the way things go ! I guess the same happened when the E36 M3 was released and E30 M3 owners saw it the same way... This was a bit out of the thread , i just wanted to add my opinion ! Also ,wanted to add this, I was thinking about why they chose the same codenames for the current M cars 80, 82 , 87 etc . And wondered whether they will keep the 87 for the M2 and just change the letter in front. Completely random, G87 = Gas the next letter is H , H87 = Hybrid and what a luck the next letter in the alphabet is i , I87 = Electric If they are taking this route , then it makes sense maybe who knows

I have a strong dilemma between trading my F87 in for this or keeping the F87 and replace the Scirocco with new Civic Type R. I know they are totally different machines and the FWD to RWD means they cannot be compared, but I am drawn to what Honda has done to the civic and not how the M2 is changing. And yes, G82/G80 are out of my budget right now...
