I hated that Mazda didn't have any fun colors for the Miata so I went overboard with it and don't regret it one bit.

I love it and think it’s one of the best reds on the market but I wanted something a bit different.

I was 2 hours from home coming back from a trip when I got a flat. Took it to discount tire since it was still under warranty. Had to wait around for 4 hours for them to get the tire in. While I was out grabbing food I got a call... "I've got some good news and bad news, good news is your tire came, bad news is one of our guys ran into your car."

Jesus mother of God. I know you wrote this with a level headed tone but I can only imagine the headache at the time was exponentially worse. Putting discount tire on my “absolutely not” list.

Yeah walking out to this makes you truly see how you handle some situations lol

I honestly still use them because I know if they mess up they 100% cover everything needed no questions asked.

Bruhhhh, this is rough. To your point though, 11 months into owning my Supra this guy backed into me, hood, lights, bumper, all shot. I imagined I'd see red in the moment but I kept it chill the whole time. No sense making a trash situation even more trash.

Best part is right after damaging my car they lifted this van with the jack half up the curb.

I asked the manager if they were trying to get two claims that day. They quickly moved the van and did it correctly.

Discount tires collectively woke up choosing violence that day. Glad it all worked out for you and that van owner, they have no idea the headache you saved them.

That's why I always get a laugh on the various threads when knuckleheads are going at each other over which color is better... like there is some objective way to measure it. In reality if the car manufacturers were able to please everyone with that model year's colors they would probably have to have somewhere in the neighborhood of 500-1,000 choices spanning every color and at least 20 or so shades of each color. If there were a single color fit for everyone then Henry Ford had it right all along, and think how easy it would be for the body shops.

Now to make my point, I add to this post- I don't really like purple as a color for anything except a sports car (and grape Fanta when I was a kid) and then it can look awesome. Like the renderings of the purple and java green M2's above- both colors I wouldn't want anywhere near my wardrobe, but put them on the right sports car and Wow! Daddy likee!

One last thing, the gold wheels look far better on the Purple than on the Java Green and anyone that thinks otherwise doesn't know sh*t and probably needs to see an ophthalmologist about your achromatopsia.

If you're thinking about Frozen Grey, do you think Skyscraper Grey + matte ppf would be better?

The $2400 you "save" on paint can go towards protection film and you'd have none of the cons of permanent matte paint (which you'd prob have to ppf anyways).
