If I remember from the books, shields were developed to stop projectile/energy weapons. Thats why use of blades was so important in such an advanced society.

Watched Jack Reacher that was playing on EPIX. I'm a huge Tom Cruise fan. This was a good, entertaining movie.

Watched Old last weekend. Bizarre movie, but I expected nothing less coming from M Night Shamalamadingdong.

As stated, I have not seen the ending and was advised not to watch it, as it would only piss me off. You sir, would be the first that I have heard otherwise from. Not sure what happens to the sister, but I just know something will happen to her. Honestly, I'm cool with it though. Something about her face and personality I don't care for. The rest of her seems to be......proportioned rather nicely.....like from the neck down is all good.
