Some things I noticed off the bat:
1) wireless charger heats up my iPhone causing CarPlay to lag significantly (got so hot that I got a temperature warning on my phone)
2) idrive 8 does lag at random times
3) I miss having tactile controls for somethings like climate control
4) no metal key fob 😢

So - very early review:

Much more viability, nice cabin feel, not as claustrophobic (I didn't have a problem with the supra but it is more open). Brakes feel just as good as the supra even with the extra weight. Handling feels as good or better compared the supra on back country roads (supra had wheels/tires, f/r sways) but again not pushing on local roads, just a few little twisties and feeling body roll/etc.

I cannot comment on 0-60 or hard pulls since I still have like 1130 miles to do haha but it seems to have pretty good power in nearly every gear at even low RPMs so thats a positive.

I need to get used to idrive 8 - had a couple intermittent spotify play issues on the my home from the dealer but haven't had an issues since.

Overall its been great and from what I can tell, handles it weight VERY VERY well.

In the coming months I'll be able to get more apples to apples comparison.

Just got off the phone with a genius; did not have much info though. She could see that my car is still at the port waiting for truck assignment. Fun fact, she is also waiting for her car that arrived on the Glovis Sunrise at the NJ port.

Status just now switched to in transit. Does this mean it's on a boat or on the way to the dealer? On the way to the dealer would be a very welcome surprise!

Call BMW Genius and they can tell you if you're on a ship, which ship, or if you're unloaded at a port and on your way to the dealer.

Usually your car gets loaded onto a ship and 1-3 days later (or more) your status will change to At the Port, and then later that day or next to In Transit.

At the port could mean the port of departure or the port of entry, since there's only one status in the tracker for both instances.

So my car is also still at port in NJ. Based on the other folks here in the same situation, either a bunch of cars got damaged, or they're backlogged because I also had no port work scheduled. Is there any way to know if they had to do repair work on a car, or if it was just something else holding us up?

The estimated departure from the vehicle processing center was Nov 25 and the estimated delivery to dealer was Nov 26. Neither of those dates is updated in the system.

CA claims they called the port directly on Sat and the VPC said it was released to the truck company and just needed to be driven.

Yesterday, Genius said there was still an open work order on the car, even though it was released to the truck company. They have no idea what kind of work order. They said that they think they do it for all M cars to double-check for problems.

Today Genius said that the work order was closed yesterday, Nov 27, but they have no idea if/when the car will be loaded on a truck and driven to the dealer.

No other obvious blockers I'm aware of, so hopefully it happens imminently.

Nope, no open work order. Genius said that it only needed a regular software update and should have been on its way to the dealer.

My car was RFT on 11/06 and changed to in transit today as well. Wondering if anyone checked with bmw genius on information regarding the port and ship ?

Update - called BMW genius and they mentioned that it left port on 26th and is expected in Baltimore on 16th . The ship is Grand Champion .

sounds like its an AMP. another post i found said they had to wait 3+ weeks to get it fixed.

amp controls idrive and pedestrian collision or whatever. they picked it up at 10am from my work, 230 and have no answer on time it may be done.

cannot explain how shitty this is. hope no one else here has this issue!
