Yep I jumped onto carsales and filtered for VIC heh was an easy find..

Here's my assessment based on this car..
Prod date: 26 Jan 2023
Compliance: April 2023
Rego date: 3 May 2023
So about 13.5 weeks (to rego date)

My Prod date: 8 May 2023
13.5 weeks later is...10 Aug 2023. Right at the back end of my 20 Jul to 10 Aug timeframe.

Hey guys, so are people getting any discounts or not really? i'm about to start shopping. I could be wrong but doesn't seem to be that much hype for the car locally (Sydney)

I'm fairly certain they were shipped earlier since it's 3 weeks shipping and clearance at our local ports took a month or thereabouts.. Ideally demos would arrive a couple of days after launch but it's taken a whole month.. could have still been held in bond.

Once my dealer gets his demo, I'll get the exact specifics - Prod dates, shipment dates, time it took to clear the ports etc since they have direct access to the logistics.

I doubt it, quite the opposite I'm told there could be a price increase the MY24 cars. Wait times are now Oct-Dec for these cars - might not be crazy demand but supply is short as well, and lead times don't help.
Could see discounts if supply increases and lead times decrease, but not for a little while I don't think.

Additionally, it looks like there's going to be further delays on orders with bucket seats so supply might be an ongoing issue for a little while. No harm asking though

It was definitely this car that I channelling when I ordered white. I remember how good these things looked in period.
You are right in saying AW is classic BMW M. Carbon seats will look incredible too.

I had to get my G42 serviced today and the legends at my dealership let me take their M2 for a super long test drive while I wait for my M2 to arrive (status 160!)

Drove the car for about 40mins or so on all types of roads, highway, industrial backstreets, and a windey mountain pass and yeah it's fantastic. My heavily modified M240i is a brilliant car and I expected the M2 to be 20% more racecar and performance orientated but I'd say it's even more after driving it.

I'll write up a proper summary BUT - everyone with one on order, you will not regret it and it is certainly worth the wait!

Oh one other thing, make sure you ask your dealership to NOT install the front end license play bracket/holder - it is a big ugly plastic after thought looking add on and needs to be drilled in. Hold fire and find a better method of affixing the front plate.

In Sydney, I placed my M2 order with carbon seat package, up till now my sales still cannot tell me when my car will start production. Expected delivery date on contract says early August, which I highly doubt will happen.

Does anyone have a production date for their M2 with carbon seat package? Cheers

When did you place your order and what # are you on the list? I am reading that there are production delays for cars with the carbon package, so if your car is not already in production, it *may* be in the backlog with the others..
