no I think management is the problem. Kap is part of the problem, but it's management and the offensive coordinator and head coach. There's just some type of toxic dysfunctional relationship between management and the coaches and players that it's affecting the entire team's performance.

This, x1000. Anyone remember deion sanders saying he had an inside source about the undoing of harbaugh a couple months back? Would love to know who that was.. but we never will. It's kinda like that whole drama with Percy Harvin, people said he got into a fight with tate the day before the SB, and NOBODY said anything. which is insane, imo. Esp, the day before the SB. All of a sudden he gets cut, people are wondering why, then they start saying he was a cancer etc... But there was zero information to go off of.. that story/trade still boggles my mind of how sneaky it was. |

That's why pro athletes shouldn't have wives. Too many options anyway to be faithful. I'd have to party til my dick fell off.

Not much to say other than I'm glad.
Like I said before, you can't go three years running the same shit. Every team knew our MO this year. With regression from almost every position, there was nothing they can do. It's time to actually spend money on real talent, and make some real changes. Say by to a lot of "household" names like Crab and Vernon.

That's a short penalty.

Vernon is a maybe. It depends on why he has been poor this year. Every year players play hurt and you don't hear anything until the season is over. If its disinterest or age then I could see him being cut or having his salary reduced.
Gore likely won't be back because he is now too limited as a player. No one respects his outside running and that makes the team's run game very limited when he is on the field. I love him as a pass blocker and inside runner, but that might not be enough. J Smith will be back if he likes the direction the team goes in this offseason. Crabtree is not coming back. Not worth the money. Too slow, overrated hands, and will be too expensive. Also the ball gets forced to him too much, as if he is a physical freak who can catch balls when he is covered. He is not a bum, but also not a top WR. Iupati won't be back because he will want too much money and the IR'ed rookie Thomas wqas drafted to replace him. Good news is 49ers do get back Willis, Bowman, and Kilgore. Draft needs include RB, WR, CB, D-line, TE, and QB. We need some speed on offense. |

What a wasted season. Well they might as well lose the next two games and get a better draft position. |

according to this thread, it may be. Alot of people here are saying players could leave etc. Niners are on the way out. I would say Seattle will be up top for another year or two, then AZ and STL will begin to reign atop the nfc west. The timeline of power in the nfl is short lived. |

As a long time Niners fan, I remember how long it took for the Niners to become a championship contenting team. Before 1981, when the Niners remarkably won their 1st Superbowl, the last time they were even in a "championship" game was in 1949, which they lost to the Cleveland Browns. I was born in 1950, so didn't have the privilege of "being there" in 49, but I was a Niners "fan" for THIRTY YEARS (from 1960-1980) through the Tittle, Brodie, Plunkett and Deberg years, when the Niners never won a single conference or division title, before they won the SB in 1981. With the arrival of Walsh in 1979 and Montana in 1981 and the transition to Seifert in 1989 and Young in 1991, the Niners became the team to beat in the 1980-90's -- apparently always in contention and winning 5 Superbowls in 11 years in that time. Beginning of the end of that era started w/Seifert's resignation in 1996 and Young's retirement in 1999 and concluded w/Mariucci's and Garcia's division title loss in 2002. The Niners did not begin to win again until Harbaugh arrived in 2011 -- 9 years later -- after they tried and gave up on Erikson (remember him?), Nolan, Singletary and Tomsula as head coach. So, if Harbaugh leaves, we could see the same string of head coach try outs as we did between 2003-2010 before the Niners can find THE coach that can put this team back together. On the other hand, if Harbaugh stays, he'll have to figure out if he can stick w/his decision to go w/Kap as his QB or, do what he did to Smith, and bench him and go in another direction. BTW, I just discovered that the Niners can bail on Kap w/o any financial risk whatsoever. Read about it here. So, if the Niners get rid of Harbaugh, they can start fresh and get rid of Kap too. If they do that, the "only" problem will be to find a qualified head coach and a new "franchise" QB. Don't think there are many (if any) of either of those available out there right now. So, depending on what transpires, it could take a VERY LONG time before the Niners get the team back on track again. We'll see . . .
