Ego lifter strikes again, Darwinism takes its course.
Saw this at my gym this last Saturday.. Kid puts 6 plates (3 each side) on the hack squat machine, and I already know douchiness will take it's course.. He then proceeds to do his your basic knee bends, roughly doing about 25% of the range of motion. After about two sets of this, a guy who happened to be doing legs approaches him and tries to coach this dumbass. Guy knew his shit and began by taking 2 of the plates off. He then showed him how to do a proper, full rep. Kid then takes the 2 plates PUTS them back on and begins to let nature take its course. I was doing seated dumbell curls at the time and from the corner of my eye I noticed my buddy rushing towards the kid. At this point the guy that JUST instructed the kid rush back over too and they are helping the him push the hack squat machine back up. When trying to do it correctly he apparently failed on his 2 or 3rd rep. Funniest part of this was the fact that the guy who knows his shit just explained to this kid about 2 minutes prior to his accident to REDUCE THE WEIGHT. |

Exactly right. I don't scream or grunt just to be THAT guy. I've been struggling between bodybuilding and lifting "heavy". But the bodybuilding has won in my old age. Checking out Arnold's Encyclopedia now. Good looking out man! Thanks. |

I wouldn't think it's weird or anything. Unconventional kinda- but some folks need to work the hip thrust (isolated) in order to push the weight properly deadlifting :

Everything's been covered, but I'll reiterate my major peeves:
1.) Standing right next to the dumbbell rack and doing exercises. You couldn't take 3 steps back? I will walk right by you and probably screw your set up as I put my dumbbells back. Never had anyone say a word to me about it either (I'm not big so no intimidation); probably cause they realize they are being pricks. 2.) People who take the squat rack for more than 15 minutes when lots of people are waiting. I am guilty of this too if I'm doing 5x5 (OHP/squat), if we are being honest. 3.) Bad form doesn't bother me too much, cause it's not my problem. But I always get a chuckle out of the heavy squatters moving about 15 degrees down. 4.) People who work out in groups larger than 3. Even 3 is pushing it. Overall though, it is enjoyable to work out at a public gym. Get a chuckle out of knuckleheads, get a glance at a hottie or 2. Lots of entertainment outside the lift. I worked out at home (only) for the first 5 years I was lifting, and it is definitely better at a gym. Plus I don't feel cramped. |

this has already been discussed but after Sunday mornings rehash I'll bring it back up.. BODY ODOR!!!!! WTF!!! How is it possibly someone could smell that foul and not notice it!!! Seems impossible...and its so annoying having to move to the whole other side of the gym and abandon an exercise mid-set and have to start a different exercise just to avoid that disgusting odor..... if deodorant don't work for some people I don't man use muriatic acid but jeez...

People who don't get the fuck out of my way.
People who try to make small talk, I bought stupid over ear headphones so no one tries to talk to me. People who workout in groups more than 3. Gym bros who's workout gear cost more than their numbers on bench. People who stalk equipment, just let me know you want it when I'm done and ill come find you. People who can't put away weight in the right spot when they're done. People who are rude about another person's B.O., if it bothers you that much, politely tell the person, don't make a scene and faces at the guy. Fat girls who take my squat rack time to do stupid crossfit/cable workouts that could of been anywhere else. |

During my 1 hour and 10 minute workout yesterday, I witnessed one yolked out twat hog the squat rack for the entirety of my workout. Not that I needed it yesterday, but he was using it when I came in, and he was using it when I was leaving. Bruh was squatting, deadlifting, OHP, shrugging, rowing, and probably more.
Props, but seriously? Hogging one of two squat racks during rush hour 5pm, for over an hour? Douche award of the year |

People who bring their own speaker and blast music for the whole gym to hear. Grab a set of headphones asshole.
..... But I can see someone comparing this to people who change their exhaust....

You should accidentally trip on the tripod and knock his shit over. Or just walk by a crop dust his area with protein farts periodically. Most gyms actually don't allow filming and photos taken for privacy issues anyway. |
