Just finished a 2000 mile, driven hard, road trip. Just about 4200 miles on her now.

It was completely isolated and boring. I'm flipping mine in the classifieds.

New tires installed! 285/35/19 front, 295/30/20 rear. So much better on these wheels, and PS4S are so much better, period, than those Pzeros!

Those Pzeros always had a vibration, despite being rebalanced thrice by different shops including the dealer, that's now gone with the PS4S! Very happy. All "buyer's remorse" for getting new tires so soon was washed away when I... went fast..., and it was smooth as ice.

And the ass will still kick out if I want her to. It's not a drastic increase in width, but in the limited driving I've done so far on them, it "feels" better. That could be placebo right now, but time will tell.

Now she gets a bath to clean 2k miles of road trip grime off her!

Chonky tires compliment the chonky ass.

I see you didn't make it on the P Zeroes very long

Just over 4K miles. The stretch on the rear was really bothering me.

Feels a little more planted, but it could be the absence of vibration. Like I said, could be placebo.

No my car always had a mild vibration at speed, hence why the dealer tried rebalancing. Maybe one of my Pzeros was defective. In any case, all good now.

ETA incidentally, that dealers response, "All M cars vibrate like that," is why I won't be going back to them for anything. None of my M cars have ever vibrated like that, including my 2007 Z4MC. I really hate when they dismiss customer concerns with bullshit.

You might be able to. Check tire rack for BMW STAR designated tires. It’ll usually say it on the search results.

Congrats and looks awesome! The other M2 that my dealer received was Toronto red and it looks amazing in person. Definitely one of the best reds I've seen.

Enjoy the new car!

PS - I lost the tire lottery, but console myself by knowing that less grip isn't such a bad thing in 2023.

Where are you guys pulling this information that PS4S* are grippier than Pzeros*?

Is there a comparison or test I missed?
Or are we just parroting stuff?

Serious question as I’m 100% curious how we can assess this.
No there is no comparison between the star varieties. So I assume they're very close. Why would BMW spec different star specs from different companies?

Non star varieties PS4S trounces all comers, but that doesn't tell us about the star spec.

It seems to me it didn’t have the best lap time or longevity… so maybe subjective?

Based on a mix of reviews but mostly tire rack. But it is old data. Everyone else has since responded so that's why Michelin is coming out with a new model. At the end of the day they're all good especially for people like me.

But some tires do feel different than others, and again the word better depends on the person (some like better performance in the wet, some in the dry, some want longer tread life, less noise, more feel, quicker steering, etc)

Like cars, no such thing as better and all compromise somewhere.

That said, I like the Michelins and would buy them again.

Yep I freely admit to being a Michelin fanboy but that's because they usually are leading.

Plus they look so much better and offer more rim protection than the Pzeros that came off my car.

Thank you! I can’t wait to see it in full sun. Today was an awful day in terms of Colorado weather and I was still stunned by the color in person. I think red is the right choice for someone who wants a car that pops.

How much lighter are those compared to the stock wheels? Notice any differences?

That would be a no brainer for me. The bi-color wheels are much more intricate & aggressive in a classy way. The solid black mesh easily get lost & all the details of the nice wheel / rim are mostly hidden.
