Also, I think allocation amounts per dealership comes into play, as well. If you ordered at a dealer that only gets 1-3 allotments per month, and I went with one that gets 3-5 per month, I very well could place my order after you, yet get an allocation and placed into the production limbo line before you.

i received a production number before i left that i could track on mybmw (still 111), wouldn't that mean i had an allocation?

Man- originally I was schedule for week 38, which was moved up to week 37. Logged on just because I hadn’t looked in a few days and it’s started production with a prod date of 9/6! Genius says that’s an estimated completion date. Wow… trying to keep my expectations low, but a faster than expected timeline for sure!

nice! yes, usually you get a VIN and 150 status in about 2 weeks/12 days before the actual production date( completion date).
If your Genius production date holds till the end, you might actually end up having a faster week 36 production

Same here 6 weeks in Final Assembly and now 20 days in Ready for Transport.

When did you place your order?? Also your spec looks identical to mine. Great choice! Congrats. I can't wait for mine to start production.

Thanks! I placed my order in April, but never got an allocation. I got fed up and found an open allocation a few states over- placed that order on 7/22.

Figured I'd ask here as you all seem like a knowledgeable bunch:

I recently placed an order for an '23 m240i with a dealership that had said they have an available allocation going into production in October. They did not provide me with a production number of anything after ordering and when I asked them about it, they said they will have one mid October-late October.

Does this sound right? Or does it sound like they might not have an actual allocation and are "hoping" they will get one end of September?

If they truly have an allocation you should 100% have a production number and they should be able to send you the Vehicle Inquiry Report showing the details of your order

Gotcha, have asked them for the vehicle inquiry report and will see if they were just saying they had an allocation so I would order with them
