Doesn't bother me personally. People's egos are too attached to a logo on the new models.

I can't think of a way to phrase it but if you know the Motorsport Division history then you'll know. If you think an M550i is an M5 you probably/most likely know nothing about the brand.

BMW is definetly marketing to a different crowd having these type of M variants. They must've found this thread awhile ago and realized most of the population doesn't give a hoot About what an a true M car is and just slaps on an M to a regular non M so most people feel as though they're getting way more car then they would be otherwise..
