Well if you had ever run a business or were involved in sales in any way shape or form you would understand the only way to measure the success of a product or a service is by sales numbers. Outside of that there’s nothing more than opinion or speculation. Now those two things can be fun to discuss but they have no bearing on reality. Only sales. Only money spent.

Part of sales, a major part, is the marketing of said product or service. The ability to persuade, convince or introduce whatever it is you’re peddling is quintessential to success and as much art as science goes in to that effort. The sales result are simply the end result, or as those is the sales world refer to as lag measure is only half the story. The lead measures are typically what are being scrutinized here, and, quite frankly everywhere.

Whoa...this render looks the most enticing...I love how the power dome and the bonnet vent work together to incite a racing car demeanour

Hopefully the real G87 will look even more aggressive

The rendering effort is admirable, the lines need to be soften up a tad and then I think we might be closer to the real thing...bonnet vent and carbon roof would be cool too

It is a good render of the China leaked bumper. Definitely hard to take the pic of a bumper laying flat on the ground and try to render it on a three dimensional object. Ultimately the bumper will have more shape to it when it is actually attached to the car. There is still that problem with the headlights not lining up and no room for a US sized plate.

BMW is already done with the M2. These renders aren't going to change anything (…if they don't accurately depict what's coming).

These renders actually look alright from a head on perspective! The issue is that as soon as you turn the car and start to get a view of the rest of the car, it’s a complete mess

I am lucky I have one of the best colors the M2 ever came in Mineral Gray Metallic

Tough choice, I have some in mind. If I want something bright maybe a Santorini Blue or Atacama Yellow. But I am thinking maybe a green, never owned a green car. Urban Green with Cognac interior would look more understated or classy. A lot time to think about it, as it is looking like a 2023 delivery. Also the minor detail about liking to final product.

A new car design is usually signed off long time in advance. Registering a new car is a time-consuming process of steps, nationally and internationally. And if someone on the face of the earth who gets access to confidential documents abuses his/her professional duties and leaks confidential information, then pictures of reverse-engineered stuff (often of questionable quality and disregarding required safety standards) based off leaked info can surface someday. Quite frustrating for car manufacturers that way too often their confidential info gets into the hands of the counterfeit and replica industry even before official release of a new car.

Only minor design tweaks are still possible. Trivia fun fact about the E82 1M: the 1M was initially supposed to get halogen headlights as standard equipment, rather than the more expensive Xenon headlights. Reason: BMW M intended to launch the 1M onto the German market in 2011 for less than €50K (entry level BMW M car). However, the 1M featuring halogen headlights is told to have failed the TüV certification test. Reason for the failure was fully 1M design related: parking lights of the halogen headlights were physically positioned too much inwards because of the 1M 'wide fenders' design (wider than the stock E82 1-Series fenders). And so BMW quickly switched to plan B for homologation purposes: exit halogen headlights / enter Xenon headlights as standard equipment on every 1M worldwide (the parking lights are positioned more external because of the 'angel eyes' design). But this change pushed the base price of the 1M right over the psychological €50K barrier on the German market.

The render is probably more accurate than the leak looking at recent BMW designs - thinking logically about it, the leak is likely just a camo panel for the M2 test mule.

BMW makes some comprehensive plastic panels to screw into the test mules to hide the shape of the real car.
