I think you might be confusing having a spot in line at a dealership to get an allocation once they become available with actually getting assigned an allocation and build date from BMW.

I’m first in line at a dealership to get an allocation, I’m just dying to know when I’ll actually get assigned one and find out when my car will be built.

Oh yeah, the allocation for allocations, of course.

Same - I'm first in line at my dealer to get the first allocation.

Allocations have not dropped yet.

To my knowledge, that is correct.
It sounds more reasonable if you count percentage rather than dollars, it’s 20% off the price of M drivers package alone.

Ah that’s my bad then, I stand corrected.

I noticed the steering ratio for the M2 is 15:1 and the m240i is 13.8:1. The lower that number (in general) the more responsive/quick feeling it is, is my understanding. Why would the M2 have a higher steering ratio if the idea is to have a more direct steering experience vs m240i daily driving/cruising.

There might not be a competition model. Not for MY2025. There is a possible CS and for MY26 there might be an xDrive.

Not sure what they would add on a competition anyway. We get the carbon roof, buckets, etc.

Also for me the competition, xDrive, CS don't matter because none of them will have a MT.

I think this is my last car so I want a manual. But I also said my last car was possibly my "last car".

The order was:

F87
F87 LCI
F87 Competition

We can expect same for G87 series.
Competion will have even more horsepower and Xdrive. You’ll have the ability to be in mode rear drive and/or Xdrive.
I’m sure there will be some other exterior or interior updates.

M2CX will be quick.
Those M3CX/M4CXs are crazy quick. They’re all 2.8/2.9sec 0-60 and 11.0 1/4mi. That’s truckin’.

What do you think base MSRP will be compared to base reg M2? $10k higher? $15k higher?

The M2 with carbon package is $9K+ higher than the base. So another $10K+ might be for the CS?

BMW also said that moving forward M cars start at competition.

But to my.point. I'm only interested in a MT so competition, xDrive and CS don't matter. None of them will have a third pedal.

To be fair, “Competition” has never had a firm definition.
Sometimes it’s a negligible power bump and stiffer chassis, sometimes it’s a negligible power bump and determines whether you get auto or MT, for the F87 it was the difference between the N55 and the S55.

I’ve always felt like the majority of people make a much bigger deal out of comp versus non-comp than necessary, and I think it mostly just ends up boiling down to ego and bragging rights.

For example, I would actually prefer a non-comp M5 or M8, because the ride is more comfortable and those models will never be as raw as an M3 or M4 anyway, but I’m sure all I would ever hear is “aww man, it’s not a comp” or “too bad it’s not a comp” or “you should’ve gotten the comp”.

Let’s all relax with the comp hype, it’s really not that big of a deal

F80/2 Competition models got a power bump, tweak to exhaust, revised suspension, heavier (uglier) wheels and tuning of the M diff. Rest was all cosmetic stuff. F87 on the other hand was a giant leap since it got the S55 and tons of other M bits it had been lacking.

If they do come out with a G87C my guess is it will be M xDrive only paired to AT with a slight bump in power, possibly some tweaks to suspension and diff but nothing drastic, the rest would be cosmetic. If you want a MT I can't see any compelling reason not to get MY25 now unless you really want to wait for a possible LCI-lite 2.0 with updated headlights and taillights, but that's at least 2yrs out.

Then you should have got the car a long time back. No point in waiting.
