Damn ... That's "fire" (as my teenager would say)!

Looks so much like a matte version of my old F87.

Thanks all! I am really digging the frozen Portimao blue! Wasn't sure I would at first as I've never owned any matte or frozen car, but I think it just looks fantastic on the G87 platform, especially in person.

900 miles on my car now.

Another thing I'm still getting used to:

When I put it in reverse, I have it set to tilt the passenger side mirror down. When looking in that mirror to park, if I park thinking the car looks parallel to the line, it is not at all.

My last car was very clear if my car appeared to be parallel to the line or curb, it really was.

But in this car, maybe due to the angle of tilt, fat hips, etc. it absolutely does NOT translate to being parallel.

Just need to be really careful when it's a curb since when it appears to be parallel, the front wheel is closer to the curb than rear wheel. I do NOT want to be that guy with wheel rash!

You can tune the amount of tilt with b-code.

Interesting. Never thought about that.

It's probably just an optics thing, where my previous cars didn't have wheels that were set wider than the rest of the body of the car. So that line is probably what I'm looking at, which would be a bad reference to parking straight.

But good to know if I can't get comfortable without "guessing" the angle at some level.

A photo from the rear just because.

Did a quick wash since it was so dirty, but the wheels refused.

Still haven't taken great photos of it, but that's the port-installed carbon fiber rear diffuser.

I know this photo helps nobody, but oh well. LOL

Yeah, these wheels are a bi_ _ h to clean, but I knew that going in. I’m a little anal about washing my cars and always try to clean the inside barrels on the wheels, but that’s going to require me to acquire some sort of wheel brush to be able to reach them.

I did my first wash after trips to Tyler and Houston last week-springtime bug coverage was quite impressive. I will say that my M2 was extremely comfortable on the road for those trips, MUCH more so than my previous F87! I was on the road for about 9 hours last Thursday and arrived home not near as road-tired as I had feared. This car is a great little highway cruiser. I put 1,000 miles on it last week so getting closer to break in. Added a pic after I washed it. This one depicts the FPB very accurately.

Your garage looks like mine - I think I have the same shelf system.

Color is remarkable.

Thanks. Yep, I installed those shelves when we bought the house-it didn’t have any at that time. Honestly the garage could use a good Spring cleaning but I’d rather be out driving…

Beautiful color! Any special tips for washing and drying you can share? My frozen grey arrives Monday and I’ve already purchased the DR.B’s matte wash and detail.

Just hadn't seen that discussed, so it was a surprise. Or maybe it's a common feature now, but the car I came from was old enough NOT to have it?

Interesting though. But I can't help but wonder if this is one of those "just another thing to break" type of things.
Not only this, but we have cornering lights. You have a separate beam light up, which is static as you turn as well, turn on your turn signal, and both light up in reverse. Pretty neat.

I use the rinseless method and use ONR from Opti-coat. On this car I did do matte PPF on the entire front end and ceramic on the whole car. I also bought a bottle of Dr Beasley’s matte finish quick stain remover for bird droppings and bugs that might hit the in-PPF’d sections. That’s about it.

Damn, that frozen pure grey is badass! As I mentioned in an earlier post, for me it came down to either this or frozen Portemio blue. Tough choice.

I noticed those as well. I did NOT notice them turning on when in reverse.

It is pretty neat. I have a lot to go when it comes to remembering/noticing/learning these features!

My strategy (atm) is to try to get as familiar as I can with the car and software... then - when I start feeling bored hook up Bimmercode and tinker with things.

Found a tiny rock chip in the windshield.

Gonna have to get that patched up before it turns into a crack!

I’m seriously considering windshield PPF when I get my M2… ^^

It’s like a constant sand / gravel storm around here, no matter the season.
