Also in Austin area, but went with the non-South dealership (not sure if it considered central or north, maybe just BMW of Austin).
I didnt like the first salesmen, but have had a good experience over the past year with Mike Hanaway. I will note that the people at the dealership gave off non-car-people vibes, as they generally dont seem to know a whole lot about specifics of how things work or package information; but maybe that is a common thing with US dealerships anways.

And a general update that i just moved to “scheduled for production” in mygarage for a third time. Hopefully it sticks...

Are you sure? I think there are only two seat options. I could be wrong, but I think there are three upholstery options on the same exact standard M2 seats and Carbon Buckets that come in Black Merino.

Was reading the original post on this car by Bimmerpost and found that claim. Third photo down in the first post. Looks like a BMW supplied photo.

The M Carbon seats are not listed by themselves because they come with the carbon package for the US market.

Fast forward to November 21 (27 days later), and I received a call saying that my car had arrived that morning and could be picked up the same day. Due to a busy schedule, I picked it up the next day with a lot of joy and happiness. It was undoubtedly worth the wait, and I love it.


To clarify why I am writing this, it's so that if someone in my area is also on the same timeline, this is what they could expect. From overall conversations with some dealerships, it has definitely improved in terms of wait times but can still vary based on certain conditions. The best thing to do is to place an order and then forget about it, so all the excitement comes on delivery day!

Timeline:
10/25: Productions begins (place deposit and gets access to online tracker)

10/27: EAS (entering assembly line)

10/30: FA (final assembly)

11/8: RFT (ready for transport. Longest part)

11/14: IT (in transit)

11/16: ATP (at the port. Arrived to Galveston port)

11/21: ATD (at the dealership)

Just a heads up.. I think I 1000% stalked your car at BMW South Austin the day they called you (before prep I think).

I was randomly driving by the dealership looking for a car with the paint I ordered my M2 in and saw your car. A dealership guy came over while I was taking pictures and was like "Uhhh.. can I help you???" I explained I had one on order a lucked into seeing one in the lot.

Ya, when I came in on Wednesday (the next morning when the dealer told me it cam in), I saw roughly 4 more M2's and at least 2 of them were a close spec to mine. I honestly thought that one of them were mine.

I met with my CA on Monday to see if he could the HAS kit to my build. He was able to and it sounds like port installed items can be added up until the car is at the port.

I thought my car went into production Dec 1st but it's in the production queue and slated to start on Dec 18th. Doing the math my CA thinks the car won't be ready for delivery until February, but could be March if things are slow. Feels like he is sandbagging a little bit. Anyone else in the midwest have an experience to share? The HAS kit will add a few business days to the process and the ship ride to Baltimore is quite the poke.

Mine was a bit of a one off as the HAS install added about 2 weeks at port as they were waiting on parts. But most I have seen is really in the 3 day range.
