Quick question and I'm sure it's been discussed somewhere in these 18 pages, but I don't have the time to scroll all the way through — for those of you have seen the official car at dealer reveals - the actual car does not have M2 fender vents? That's the only thing that's really a bit disappointing. The design language is otherwise pretty cool to my eyes.

What they saw is what we're seeing here. One might presume that they gathered feedback and/or continued development and the final car could have evolved another 1% before we see it in 2 weeks.

I'd like a lower body colored piece to bridge the flow, as well as front rocker emblems.

I'm sure there will be plenty of aftermarket badges and fake vents you can tack on. It's not like they're functional nowadays anyway. I personally don't mind the clean look, but not on this color.

Only problem I have is the taillights

They are just too far apart and too small. Same issue as the regular 2 series coupe'. Rest of the car is 'ok'. The weight of it is counterintuitive though. The whole point of buying a smaller car is that it should be lighter than a larger car thus have better handling. What's the point of sacrificing practicality by going smaller if weight is still high?

It'll drive quite a bit different thanks to the shorter wheel base.

Should change direction with a little more chutzpah.

This has always been the challenge with the smaller BMWs. The earlier 1 and 2 series were not much lighter than the 3 series from their same generation.

I'm struggling with the horseshoe moustache at the front.

It's ok looking, its very toned down in terms of aggression in my opinion.

It's definitely a contender though, looks aren't everything...can't wait to try the S58 in that chassis.

Maybe the added weight of the xDrive is unacceptable to them?

It's so interesting ....

... some of the very same people posting "I'll never buy the G87 because it's too heavy" are also saying ... "I'm going to wait until the LCI comes in a hybrid with XDrive!"

Really???

You find a lot of that circling 'round happening on forums.

You misspelled sympathy. :
And the denial begins
I don't own an f87, but if I did, I wouldn't be jealous of those that bought this terd. Same with the G8x. I'd rather have my f80 because I think the G8x looks like hot garbage sans some interior bits but you do you bud.

I think it does look better. But maybe M Designers did it on purpose to try to give it a unique look. Because I do think it looks better. But it makes it look more like some other import and less "BMW." Without the Roundel, even with the kidney grills I think people would have to do a second take to see if it was a BMW at this point.
