They are litespeed's. Patrick was super easy to work with. Extra 15mm offset on the front and 12 mm on the rear. Were a lil pricier than a few other options I was looking at, but I think worth it.

Edit: they are the rs5's, I really like the rs5rr's but they looked more difficult to keep clean.

Finally got the break in service complete at 1,178mi - just in time to go on vacation. At least I’ll have a reason to be excited when I come back home.

Windshield was surprisingly cheap. BMW gave the shop a 25% discount, it came to CAD872 on the invoice (just the part).
I paid CAD200 deductible.
Had the 1st windshield on my last car ceramic coated when the rest of the car was done as a bonus addon. Needless to say I didn't bother coating the subsequent replacement windshields. If my shop throws it in on the G87 upon delivery as part of the package I'll do it again but if not likely will pass.

Nope, wont help with rocks. Most it will do is cause water to bead off in the rain. If coated with same product as the car, just a minor bonus. There are specific ceramic ciat type products that are a super benefit in the rain (no, I dont mean rainX, thats junk).

I did use specific glass coating CarPro FlyByForte. Two layers. I had originally done 1 coat on all other windows too, just to make them easier to clean later and prevent water spots (if it does).
Ah got it. I mean... damn it worked wonders!!!

I used Ceramic Pro with the 5 year option which was multi layered. It definitely worked great on rain / water / dust though!

Might as well throw on a layer of ppf on the windshield.

You can PPF the windshield.

You can PPF the windshield.

You don't want to ppf the windshield.

I hear mixed reviews of windshield PPF. Yes it'll save the windshield, but it probably needs replaced frequently. About every 2 years. Need to do a cost benefit analysis.

My 9-year old F82 with 51k miles doesn’t even have any small chips in the windshield. Don’t make them like they used to I guess.

Why’s that?

My PPF guy has done it a bunch. The only negative I’ve read about is possible orange peel viability.

This is one of my favorite shops and they've been experimenting with films on owners Porsche.

Y’all scaring me with the Windshield stories. I’ve already sent my PPF guy a message. I trust my man Game from the same mean streets of Chicago where people throw rocks off bridges for sport.

Most windshield PPF will at least degrade or become scarred with wiper usage. That’s what my PPF installer informed me. As long as you don’t plan on ever driving your car in the rain, or if you plan to track it - then it might be worth the $500-700 most places charge for it. Otherwise, just save up for a windshield replacement in the future.

Due to the numerous potential cons, and ultimate cost of installation (if ppf'd, I would also ceramic coat over it) vs cost of windshield replacement (us in Florida and other States, its free).

Telling you man, every co-worker that has a BMW in the last few years has gone through at least one windshield. Most form a big crack near the rain sensor. It's crazy.

Nice. Why did you go square setup instead of 19/20s? Do you know the weights compared to stock?
