Haha ya and that was a mild one! Then there was memories of the amount and smell of hair spray.
Oooh, just saying that reminds me of styles being called "Doo's", then there was 'Dippity-Doo'!!!

I remember air raid drills when I was very young, maybe 1st grade. Although not sure why. That was maybe 1968-1969.

I do remember those. Also remember the candy, (or maybe gum?) cigs that were wrapped in paper that had the mysterious white powder that would simulate smoke when you puffed out.

I remember going to the variety store and buying candy for a penny....getting a selection of them in a little brown paper bag. Lola's for a dime.

HA! Did you notice the ingredients? Beef gelatin? Yikes!

Ingredients: dextrose, corn starch, corn syrup, tapioca, beef gelatin and artificial flavors

Got to agree...a great piece on a great sitcom...the series also had the Bailey/Jennifer conundrum...for me, it was Bailey (but then also, it was Mary Ann in Gilligan's Island).

I was going to go all Gilligan on this....beat me to it....I mean who wouldn't want a spin with Jennifer but Bailey Quarters.....OMG. And then there was Mary Ann in those little farm dresses.....I still have impure thoughts.

I think they had Snickers Bars back then...and if they did I'd eat the peanuts out of her Snickers....might be the Rum talking.

Ironically, I quoted this very scene in a conversation with my DW about something breaking horribly at work on Monday morning!

Reminds me of the knockoff that Married With Children did with the Christmas episode that saved their show a decade later, with Santa Claus parachuting out of a plane and crashing in their back yard:
