I let my brother talk me into going to a beauty school for a free cut one time because a friend of his taught there. Of course she cut his hair, and I got a student who proceeded to share how she was paying her way through beauty school by being a stripper.

It was actually a pretty interesting conversation and decent haircut, but I couldn't help chuckle inside at the stereotype.

Yeah haha. It's Dominican owned but they have a few African American and Irish guys in there too. Usually the loud music tends to be the Dominican guys though haha.

Because they were students, they wouldn't let us pay for it. It was a "I mean, we'll take your money, but it's policy that they can't get it directly." I think I gave her a 5 and 2 ones because that's all the cash I had on me and they wouldn't run my card. At least at a strip club I might not have felt bad about giving away my money.

I get my hair cut at Floyd's 99 Barbershop, for which that dont know is just some chain rock n roll themed hair cut joint. They hardly ever have a proper barber on staff to do straight razor shaves.

Anywho, all the girls that work there are all tatted the hell up, half sleeves, full sleeves, tons of piercings, basically the majority of them look like Suicide Girls/emo/edgy look. I dont mind chicks like that and two of them are stupid hot. One of them has this huge killer rack that's was always in my face or on the back of my head when she cuts my hair. At first it was super odd and I found it borderline inappropriate but now, I dont give af. I'm sure other customers feel/felt the same way.

I've had some weird convos with all of them and sex does come up a lot. But there's this one dude there that cleaned my beard up, when I had one, that talked about nothing but local food. He was like obsessed with this Mexican joint that served fresh pork rinds and he likes to throw some hot sauce on them. Very odd guy but was super nice and gave me a good cut. I dont get my hair cut by the same person each time but the past two times I've gone in there he's recognized me and always ask if I've visited the Mexican joint he raves about.

It's really not that hard, I have been doing it since college. How I do it?? Mostly with a buzzer on the sides and scissors on the top. I'm not trying to dumb it down, I just start with a #8 attachment and work backwards to a #0 for a nice even fade and then I trim the top. I even have a few different styles under my belt. In college I cut all my friends hair and now I cut my nephews. Saved tons of money over the years and even made a few bucks.

Sport Clips is such garbage. I found a boutique place that charges LESS and does a much better job including using a straight razor to cut my d-bag hard part and neck hair. Obviously this is all dependent on location, but find someplace else you won't regret it.

All the sport clips around here purposefully use semi-attractive chicks, ages spanning from 25-45, and they flirt with the customer the whole time. While that CAN be interesting/fun for some guys, I just want a damn haircut and to be on my way. I'm not looking for a strip club experience bundled in with the haircut. Interesting business model.

I also cut my own hair now, as I got tired of paying 25$ for my simple hair cut (started at a 4 on top when I started a few years ago, it's now down to a 2-3 cause baldness, 1 on the sides, fade it together). Takes me 30 minutes and I do my beard trim at the same time.

Cutting your own hair, if you have a simple haircut, is very doable, but it does take practice. The first few will be shoddy and uneven - luckily I got my practice in way back in high school.
