Amazing performance but it's a Camaro. Has such a redneck stigma to it, lol

If you ever sit in one, the first thing that really jars is just how bad the visibility out of that thing is. Looking out of the windshield makes you feel like a gunner in a pillbox. And then you look at all the plastic. Sure, it is fast but I sure would not want one. If I was going American, I would go for the a Mustang GT350.

I might consider this if you could only see out of it. Nah, still wouldn't buy one...then I would have to become a fan of Nascar and wear wranglers and drink longnecks. Just kidding...just kidding...

well, I hope its faster than the 4100+ lbs of heat soaking junk that was the old ZL1. Pretty sure the current 1LE would smoke it at "power" tracks much less anything involving actual grip.

Five out of first six responses are negative.. shocking lol. The new zl1 is going to leave a lot of pretentious m3/m4 owners in the dust. It's shaping up to be an amazing car all around, and yet I would expect nothing less than for this community to deride it.

Nobody's denying the car's superior capabilities but rather its questionable design, limited outward visibility, and build quality....all traits of the new gen Camaro.

What questionable design and build quality issues are you referring to exactly? The ones f80/82 owners conjure to comfort themselves with? The car is generally agreed to look fantastically aggressive and the new camaro has no widely reported quality control or build issues. So please, spare us the time honored fall backs of the BMW boys.

Guess I'm out of the thought pattern with most of you. I have an X1 for my DD and 15 months ago I sold my C-7 for an M4. 16,000 miles later I am still in love with my M4. Even though the new ZL-1 knocked the crap out of my M4 time at the Ring, I still have no desire or need to bash the Camaro. And even if I had a GTS in the garage, I would still feel the same.

I have owned a Camaro, and being how good this alpha? chassis is, I would love to own it, but I can't for all the reasons above. |

The M3/4 guys that have the knee-jerk reaction to put this and other american cars down look small in my eyes. Where's the objectivity?
The new ZL1 looks like an impressive car. I am curious if they've solved the over heating issues of the LT4 as seen in the C7Z? For my money, I'd buy a Corvette Grand Sport with the Z07 package if I wanted a Chevy track car right now.

The Z28 will be quicker than the 2017 ZL1. The car is getting a huge aero treatment, which will shave seconds off at the ring. It won't need the hp, shave 300lbs+ off ZL1, add carbon ceramics, huge aero, ditch magneride for spool valve shocks, lighter wheels, more tire, stickier compound. Z28 is going to be the ultimate GM track package. Look at this thing, GM is not f*cking around with this car. |

Btw, you may not recall, but the heat issues existed long before the auto tranny was made available on the C7 Z06. There are long threads about it on corvetteforums, and people still have issues. The car is a beast, but it does have issues, and eats consumables at an alarming rate. |
