We are also considering MB GL due to it having a more useful 3rd row and V8 available.

It's not ugly but it's incredibly bland and lacking in character both inside and out. But hey it's what the people want.
If I needed a 7-seater the Q7 would be my de facto choice because nobody else offers a proper 7-seating configuration. I'd have to black out the wheels or something to make it more flashy cause it's so bland. If I didn't need the extra seats, every competitor is far more interesting and "emotional," including the Volvo. |

I'm in Plano right now Great car, but as others stated, looks too much like a station wagon for me.. I like the looks of the old one better. That said, I'd never drive an SUV - it would be for my wife so its ok. If it weren't for the fact I get a company car I'd get one

This new Q is in the same league as the Subaru Outback, definitely a wagon more than the similar of XC90 or the X5 ... interior no question top notch

Interior is top notch quality , among those competitors I would pick the Audi as well . Design wise ,however, VW wins me over Audi .So is Skoda Kodiaq

The Q7 definitely has the best interior which is very important for us having to drive and be inside the vehicle. But I prefer the exterior of the GL.
We'll see every happens... |

Not yet... Wifes lease is up this Summer on her car. But I like to start my research early. The GL is also in strong consideration. The Q7 wins in interior and quietness and driving. My wife also prefers its looks. But the GL wins with room and cargo and the dealership is close by. We shall see...

We bought one of the first (new to the Audi Line up) 2007 Q7s in the Bay Area back in December of 2006. Since then we have put around 126K miles on it and it's still going strong. It was handed down to my 22 year old daughter then now on to my son who just turned 16 this year. We then in 2015 bought a new Q5 TDI which my wife drives.
All i can say that we have been pleased with Audi overall. Both vehicles have been pretty problem free except for the basis wear and tear items and regular service intervals. The new Q7 is a cut above the first generation Q7 for fit and finish plus not to mention the big weight loss on the new Q7s. I would not even hesitate buying another Q7. It's a much nicer SUV then anything BMW offers IMO. |
