you can create your own games, select how long they run, short sell and trade options....

we can do one where you just buy/short stocks or we could have an all out competition!

long on NVDA and PEIX.

NVDA is my safer bet, got in at around $22.

PEIX is my big gamble. got in at around $5, hoping ethanol will take off in the future.

i haven't been adding to my positions just yet. i just don't have the confidence in the market right now and i'm about out of money. i'd rather find 1 or 2 more stocks to invest in instead of putting all my eggs in 2 baskets.

Here's a REALLY speculative choice for any of you in the position to risk on some long-shots... (ie. CAUTION!)

Sustainable Energy Technologies trades on the TSX Venture exchange for around 30 cents.

Sustainable recently hired the former VP & COO of First Solar Energy (FSLR - arguably one of the most successful alternative energy companies in the world - FSLR went from $50 to almost $300 this year). The guy must see something in this tiny canadian company that has no revenue but just might have the right inverter for the times...

http://biz.yahoo.com/ccn/080410/2008...1001.html?.v=1

Full disclosure - I own a few thousand shares - no other ties to the company. Not pumping it - just interested in contributing and hoping to help some fellow bimmerposters pay for that extended leather!

ps - for large cap, I also like SU, CAT (earnings fri), AEM and JNJ

At the end of Mar., I sold off and am keeping a majority of my $ as cash. Best performing current position = short the XLF with May 28 puts. Nothing else doing significantly well, but I've been on the sidelines for a while now.

^^ lol..they have been hit pretty bad...i see two things
1. they go out of business
2. they get bought out by someone else (ideal) but who know's how much more downside there could be

I've held on NVDA since 2000, split 2 or 3 times. Not bad, but future is murkier since there is a move to consolidate CPU and GPU as 1 unit. Nvidia is the only major player with no CPU, AMD and Intel both have 2 sides covered. I do like their products on a personal level though.

That must've been crazy haha...I kept trying to pinpoint the time to short it, and I couldn't catch it when it did

I love Jen-Hsun Huang, he has balls. That's why I keep holding to NVDA.

All of mine are long term right now.

XOM
DYN
GE

Exxon, my dad bought like a $1000 worth when I was born for my college tuition. It paid for everything in college. I made my money back, then took some out for a nice down payment on my car. Made my money back.

Dynegy I bought for the sure hell of it. I had a mutual fund mature ($3K) my grandfather had invested in for the grandkids. I put $500 in at $0.79 (I believe). $2500 bought GE.

I'm currently looking at where to go next. I'm going to put my tax return in some new stocks.
