The M2 is not going to fit his budget, the leasing programs are terrible last I checked and he'd be looking at $1K per month on a note based on some rough math.

Indeed they are. Premium Plus S4 Residual is like 61%. Money Factor is something like .00134.

$ doesn't make sense? I would NEVER own that car with all the problems they have been having, lease is the only thing that wouldn't have me freaking out all the time if I had to have one of those.

Any idea how the XE S with the nice engine in it is leasing? When I looked a LONG time ago when they first came out they were piss poor. Maybe better now.

If luxury auto dealers are ignoring or treating potential clients poorly due to their dress, they are losing out on a lot of sales, and will lose out on even more in the future.

Gulia residuals are in the 40's low 50's. It just doesn't make sense to lease it. XE Residual was okay. Last I checked it was like 56%. Money factor wasn't that great though!

So how are they moving any of them? You've gotta have a real hard on for Alfa to actually buy that ticking time bomb. The XEs were that bad when they first came out too, maybe it will get better.

If $650 is the magic number I'd have a hard time arguing against an S4 it seems. Yes we can all argue all day long about this car or that car is better, but when the rubber meets the road and you say best car for $X a lot of that noise goes out the window.

Well since OP mentioned cars like the standard 4 series and M240, maybe it’s worth mentioning an infinite Q60 Red Sport. Though I don’t know what the leasing would be like on that car.

Keep in mind, the people that want to own these cars also want the exclusivity that comes with it. They're paying out the wazoo for them, but that is something that they're fine with. They have the latest and greatest. Alfa also wants to try and keep the car exclusive and milk it as long as they can for profit margins. Residual and MF will be bad for awhile on an Alfa.

Honestly, I don't see a reason why someone wouldn't get an S4/S5 over the competition right now. If you're budget is mid 600's, it doesn't get any better than the S4/S5.

I don't know man, I ain't about that life.

I see 1-2 around town almost every day, mostly quadrifoglios, but not driven by those types of folks either. They seem pretty stealth TBH unless you really know what you're looking at, maybe it just takes a lot to get noticed around here.

I completely agree. I like to fly under the radar. you bring up a very good point. It does depend on area as well. You see more M3's on the road than Alfa's though.

That's a fair point, but the M3 has been continually sold in the U.S. for what damn near 30 years? I know you meant the current incarnation but even that you've gotta give the Alfa a bit of time to catch up.

Would be interesting to see what it looks like in 2-3 years. I tell you one thing I see ALL OVER THE DAMN PLACE is that Jag SUV. That launched about the same time as the Alfa right? Assuming they've been available around the same amount of time the Jag is outselling the Alfa, based on my VERY unscientific local sample, 10:1.

Guy in one of the review vids I checked out said he got a SS 1LE for 43K, seems suspicious though, maybe a 1SS and not a 2SS. Still, even at the 2SS level and a few grand more, it's a hell of a deal for that much performance. I'm probably headed that way over the winter to bring my excitement level back. Checked out an M2 last time I was at the shop a few weeks ago, but somehow it was over 70K. The raw feel of the V8 connected to that trans and absolutely world class suspension/brakes is what I want back.
