Wow nice and detailed blog! I love these annual road trips and as part of our family holiday for the summer we aim for Italy. This year southern Tuscany just 100 km north of Rome.

So the trip this year has been amazing and long from Copenhagen, through Germany, Austria and the alps and into Italy - first stop around lake Garda for a night and a dinner and then on to Tuscany.

Yesterday we had a day and evening stop in Rome - around 2.100 kilometres from home

Made a mistake with the timetable for the ferry off the island! I was reading the times for the reverse direction!

So instead of aiming for the 9.45am ferry......it’s the 7.45am ferry!!!

Shit! That is a 5.30am alarm!

So, yesterday is left Croatia behind and headed to Austria via Slovenia. This involved the Vrsic pass in Slovenia and then the Wurzenpass on the Slovenian / Austria border. The top of the pass is the actual border.

More animals casually sleeping in the road at the top of Vrsic.

The restaurant was a short walk further up a mountain;

Today we head for Germany and continue our way home.
