A 2014 Dodge Durango is definitely *not* a muscle car.

My Rx8 has back seats....but it's a rotary. If you're not a fanboy I'd stay away.

I dunno but I'd stick away from Kia honestly. I'm just not a fan. Reminds me too much of Daewoo.

Do you have to have a new car? Or is used ok?

What kind of fun are you looking for?

The most fun vehicle I've ever driven was a 2004 Jeep Wrangler TJ with the 4.0 six and a manual transmission. No doors, top off, cruising by the beach with a few hotties.

An E60 M5 would be an awesome car, but I definitely wouldn't really be able to "use" it where I live without ending up in jail.

A mutal friend had one a few years ago and it got an oil leak, it's so compact in that engine compartment that they had to pull the motor out just to fix a $50 gasket. I think the car was sold a few months after that.

Same with the M6 in this year range. Fun, beast, but maintenance nightmare. You can pick them up in the high teens.

911 turbo. 996 if you want to spend less and can deal with fried egg headlights. 997 if you can swing. Backseat, reliable, supercar fast and probably wont lose much in depreciation. Better to buy used Porsche and lose a few k than a new kia and lose 90% of its value in a few years.

x2 on the Jeep, I've got an 88 YJ in my farm garage right now. Carbureted 4.2 and manual. They are an absolute blast and you can get them for almost nothing, I paid $1600 for mine running with a brand new battery and soft top.

Would only make sense as a weekend car.

But there are many lighter and more "fun" weekend cars like older Boxsters or ///M3s.

Had a 2015 Durango AWD RT.....

Sucker was a blast at times, and was a boss in an AWD drift...

Except I torched the 8spd torque speed trans under factory power with only 26k on it.

Alternator was dying, that was all. 45 shipped to replace. I pulled out about 25 feet of wiring that wasn't connected to anything so I guess the p/o pulled and sold his off-road lights. Olympic model too.

gah i would LOVE to buy an E60 M5 too to add to my garage. I've just heard so many damn horror stories about them. As much as i'd love to have a V10 powered monster of a sedan i really don't want to see a repair bill of $5-10k unexpectedly 'pop up'.

IMHO buy whatever makes you happy. If a Kia Stinger blows you outta the tub, do it.

As for the e60 M5, it’s one hell of a car that needs attention like a hot bitch who always wants you to take her to the mall and buy her things, however, the sex is mind blowing. Best to get a e60 M5 that is enthusiast owned with service records. Yeah, it’ll cost more but peace of mind is of most importance.

EAG always has great overpriced M cars in immaculate condition but for the life of me they won’t ever change out rod bearings as their ‘preventative 10 year maintenance’ on S62/S65/S85’s. When I called them out on that, they never answered.

I'm not convinced that the E60 M5 is a "fun car" anyway. Maybe if your definition is "sounds awesome", then sure. No question.

But I drove it in two different M schools and the thing is capable, but still a pig compared to more focused "fun cars". Plus, it's ugly. Ok, I understand looks are subjective and to each his...ah forget it - we all know it's ugly

One word: V10. It's definitely fun.

I'd say the E60 M5 is a lot cooler looking than the last 2 generations of M5 which are frankly outright boring and uninspired. Bangle forever!!!
