Very possible with Vettel that he will take over. I am somewhat surprised that Vettel is still going on with years of underperforming. Alonso, even though he has been out for two years and in the early part of the season, has been frank on his self-assessment that he is not performing up to his own standards so far.

Prefer the open plan look of before, they've snowflaked it too much restricting freedom of movement and the track could have been made wider keeping in mind the cars are twice the size of the ones in the fifties.

Sainz was really on it the whole session getting ahead of Verstappen and the Mercs on the same tyre at a similar time in the session.
Perez was on good form.
Good session for Gasly.
Leclerc having a bad day as seems to happen at his home race a little too often.
Verstappen didn't hit the wall.
The Mercs weren't super fast...as is often the case at Monaco.
Alonso should maybe be looking for the exit door unless he can get his mojo back.
Be interesting to see how FP2 shapes up once teams move to the soft tyre rather than using the (superfluous) hards and mediums that were assigned by the FIA

probably it was a practice transmission on Leclerc's car but.. gosh he only lapped 4 times around the track without even pushing and its broken..

Ferrari's leading out of FP2. Could it be real? I hope so, that would be incredible if they manage to have both cars in the top 4 headed into the race. Especially at Monaco where race pace doesnt matter as much.
