First of all i dont even know why i have to deal with this bs. But im posting here to let you guys know how this law is bs and prevent more victims.

This car is 2020 bmw m8 were going to talk about.

- Apparently its stolen and i tried to file a stolen report police says its not stolen because i know where the car is and who has it.

But heres what exactly happened.

2020 July i bought this car brand new at a stealership mckenna.
- Paying 43k down 2k a month.
Ive always think of dealer service = free oil change. And really didnt gave a f about warrenty and most my cars were modded balls deep. First thing i did was i lowered the car with spring. And this bs started from this month.

Im not gonna say detaily what happed but if you search my post you will kinda see the nightmares i had withcthis car.
- Axle blew up 3 times,
- cluster got fried and
- replaced 2 times li-ion battery? Maybe 5? Times all out of my pocket.
Because some asshole from dealership red flagged entire car for having spring.Btw car wasnt tuned at all.

After dealing with this bs i immediately decided to just flash dme and tune the car and mod the s*** oit of the car.
My second upgrade was turbo, next upgrade was stage 2 tune and exhaust.

Sometime in May from hollywood on the way back home. In a freeway i was driving 40mph and motor just blew up. If i was pushing the car hard then i wont even say anything and just stfu but this isnt that case
How hard possibly i can push in 40mph freeway?

At this point ive spent already way too much money on repair. Btw mileage was at 4000 miles when it blew up. I didnt even bother to take it to dealer cause i knew what they would say. I try to look for a 3rd party shop to see if i can get it rebuild and most place asked for around 30k. Which didnt really felt like spending that much and kept look for a mechanic who knows how to fix.
- Now this was my mistake, itnwas my mistake that i took the car to a unlicensed business aka garage boy.
- He quoted me 4500 to rebuild and i would need to bring all the replacement parts. And would take 2-3 weeks to get it done.
- I brought all the parts and paid him full before the repair. 2-3 weeks he said turned out to be 3 months. And the day i brought the car i already have issue. Damaged cylinder was 4&8 and code keep says superknock 7. But there is no knock, car goes limb mode but its not even a limb mode, because red line is still showing at 7000 and. Even 1 side turbo was working. 1 turbo just kept gets shutdown . And keep saying superknock.

This mechanic tells me its my dme problem and starts blaming on dme. Luckily i had a extra dme set and i was able to reprogram the vin on the dme and it was same.
This funny clown now starts to point fuel injector, knock sensor, ignition coil, spark plug. Everything you can possibly imagine related to engine.

I changed
- 8 fuel injector,
- 4 knock sensor,
- spark plug at least 2 sets and
- 3 igniton coil.

And problem still didnt fix. Now coolant part, why he said overfilles coolant? When i brought the car home, coolant was empty. And i had to fill the coolant. I spilled little bit but this guy talk like i dumped whole bottle into cylinder. I been so stressed for few months and started dojng some research and i decided to just take it to the shop.

On a random sunday in July. Normally this guy always call me or text me saying if im home or not and comes by. But without that he comes to my house with his little brother and begs me to give him chance to fix the car. He didnt even tell me hes gonna charge for rebuild again or charge me for storage at this point. What made me speechless was he just took my car while i was changing the brake pad on my cousins car. Saying ill have it fixed. Technically this guy just inform me and just took the car. Before he open the motor up he says he is forcsure my piston and rod got fucked up and i would need to look for new piston and rod.
So i kinda was looking for it but nobody really had the forged piston in stock and even if there was they wouldn sell just 1 .

I kinda felt this guy is just bs and told him i found a place who might be able to fix ( which was a test) and give me the piston and rod when opens up.
After he opened the motor my feeling was right , piston and rod was not messed up. At this point this guy absolutely dont know what issue is. After him taking my car from my house i waited 2 months and he still doesnt do anything on the motor. So i decided to just take the car to a shop and get over with it.
I arranged the tow truck because motors been taken out i decided to take the car and this fker normally parks my car in the middle of street but car doesnt show where its supposely, and dodging my call.

Obiously i went to local sheriff station and tried to file a report and they wont take the report and tells me its a civil matter and go deal with it at court. I tried to file report and this one sheriff says its faster to deal with BAR and try ask them for help. So i hit em up told them the story and they tell me theres nothing they can do. Cops say its civil issue and bar is helpless tried to look for a lawyer for cant find a lawyer. What pisses me off the most is im still fkin making a payment nearly 1 yr for something i don't even drive or have. I tried many times go and take thr car and this piece of sh** wont release the car.
You can literally steal a car from someone you know and pull the motor out, and if cops show up lie to them saying they owe money and lapd or sheriff will not do anyhting.

I learned my lesson again from this experience and all i can say is f the lapd snd sheriff, they can go f them selve or each other and lastly this ungrateful mf. He will pay the price for playing game with me.

2022 is supposely a very good start for me i guess.
If anyone who knows the law or can help me more than happy to listen to it.


Summary
Unlicensed mechanic stole the car and asking to pay 22k for something i dont even owe and not releasing the car. Police wont take this as stolen car cause i know where the car is and who took.

Ok you did make it a little easier to read but still no closer to making sense. Like you attempting to read that as it was caused physical pain.

Buy a basically new car, mod it and now its having issues? And given the fact that its apparently engineless in someone's carport makes me think "who modded this thing?"

I dont know anything about the quality/reliability of the M8 but this car was obviously a write-off the moment you got a hold of it because youre like rich enough to buy an expensive car but cheap enough to take it to someones cousin to be modified?

I my brain could handle this if it was a 19 year old talking about trying to turn an E30 into a drag car on his budget from delivering for Dominos but an M8 and supposed adult just causes my brain to lock-up.

Thank you for your concise review, the original point is nearly impossible to get through. The M8 went downhill quickly and seemed to be compounded by the mods plus what sounds like a poisoned relationship with the dealer. Why pay for items or service that are covered under the warranty? Why go to Bud's Carport Shop for such an important job? Why not pursue a Buyback when the first couple of issues happened? Inquiring enthusiast minds want to know...

That invoice shows storage fees through July 19, 2021. It is now February 2022. Does that mean there is another $30K due for storage fees on top of the previous invoice?

How does someone charge storage fees when the engine is removed (if that’s the situation, hard to tell)?

Why is this car not at a legitimate shop? It's an M8, not an '86 Civic.

Storage fees? While sitting in a carport...engineless...a carport...uh...

Did you ever approve an invoice and give the go-ahead that stated a complete rebuild with the engine out?
