What are you ordering? Carbon Roof, Sun Roof or Steel Roof

I remember when cars that came with black side mirrors were the lower end models while the higher end ones were body colored. I know these are CF, but at that price it's a total rip off IMO. Use that $$$ for better mods.

Maybe they already have the best mods available tho. I wouldn't assume one influences the other.

Me either it, is one of the coolest elements of BMW M cars. For whatever reason Porsche hasn't adopted these widely. It is the first thing people point out on my E92 and F80 M3's.

It would be really nice if they painted the carbon fiber roof for those of us who don't like intermixing materials that do not match the two contrasting colors (paint + black).

Just found out you can’t get a steel roof in the US. Looks like I have to go CF roof to avoid getting a big ass hole cut into it.

Been realizing that I don't necessarily want a CF roof, just not a body-colored roof (especially not AW/ZB).

I have wrapped my roof in the past but no experience with paint. Can anyone chime in on what you paid to have a roof painted before? Preferably one with a moonroof as would be the case here for the US.

SIGH I HATE being forced to get the carbon roof to get a slick top, but I think I finally settled on doing it. I'm kinda glad we had this period between reveal and actually placing an order to hmmm and hawww about it.

I'm pretty sure I would regret it later if I didn't pony up for the carbon fiber roof. But I don't want it because it's carbon fiber, I want it because I don't want a sunroof.

I'm going with Black Sapphire, so I think the Carbon Roof will complement that color really well.

Yep. Don’t like the hole cut in the roof so there’s only one option. I’m being forced into the Carbon roof as well….

You can - it comes with M Driver Pack.

I was under the impression that m driver's pack forcefully removes sunroof because sunroof is not stable for speeds over 250 kmh

I can tell you that is not true because there are convertible cars that have top speeds of 250 km/h or more, I doubt sunroof will even be a consideration for high speed stability.

Are there any downsides to a carbon roof besides the fact that you don't have a sunroof? Is it loud when it rains? Does it scratch easily? Does it still look good after 5-10 years? I've seen a few used M3's where the carbon roof looked a bit worn to me but I could be wrong.
