Just in case anyone is curious here's what the MPE sounds like on the m340i new LCI and the m440i:

yeah on the m440 with mpe in that video it sounds kind of funny but it might just be the recording. Got to keep and eye out for a g20 in the area with mpe.

Unfortunately, I live in an apartment complex with very limited storage so the MPE is probably the only exhaust option I'd consider. Assuming it wouldn't hurt the resale value of the car down the road (might actually help it). No place to keep the stock exhaust since the MPE requires cutting. I also like the fact that it's OEM!

If you guys are curious, there is an ios/android app called "M performance Sound Player" By using it you can compare the M240i MPE sound with the stock exhaust sound. I'm assuming these recordings are legit.

Does anyone know if there is any weight reduction from stock to MPE?

Pretty ironic how they will go through that trouble, but still don’t give us a solid product description other than a vague copy/paste paragraph used for all their exhausts. I’m curious enough to possibly order one just to see what the specs are.

I temporarily removed the stock muffler for testing purposes and put it on a scale... stock one weighs 10.4kg which actually is not bad, not sure if the MPE will weigh less.

Its been a year or so already and no one has tried this yet?

Pretty pricey here in Toronto ... $3,087.72 before tax... Plus 3-3.5hrs install.

Someone try it already.

It wasn't available until just now. Part number popped up a few months ago, but it was blocked from ordering until this month.

it's expensive AND you have to cut into your current exhaust? why didn't they make it attach on like every other company?

nvm, I answered my own question. it's a cash grab for the dealers

Honestly if its 1700, you could do it and the AA downpipe for around what the FI exhaust costs you.

I asked one of the vendors about the weight on the MPE and they said "around 32lbs which is half the weight of the stock exhaust". So they're saying the stock exhaust is almost 60lbs. I'm confused now lol.

So the stock muffler is bolt on? and not welded onto the pipes?

If you look it says requires these 2 clamps assuming to clamp it where you cut the oem exhaust. Believe they are 50 each or something. If you click the link in op it's on that page.

Stock exhaust system bolts on at the downpipe and is one piece all the way back.

There's cut points and clamps to remove stock and do any aftermarket axel back.

Thanks yes my dealer mentioned about those clamps too. About $90-100 CDN.
I was just wondering as mentioned above...
'temporarily removed the stock muffler for testing purposes..'which is not temporary as it had to be cut.
The tricky part would be knowing where to cut as it has to match up with MP Exhaust or any aftermarket exhaust and then use the clamp to join both sections.

The instructions have measurements of exactly where to cut.

I did actually reach out to the person and he said his car was ordered with Performance muffler and it was delayed 3 months because of it. So on delivery it already had it.

Weird, that's a longer version of the clip I posted on page 1... that people were saying was fake. Is this your car?
