So guys. I still haven’t made my final decision I’m regards to a 911 Vs a G87 M2 for a family of four.
I’m now possibly able to stretch to a used 992 with low options. BUT still think that the G87 M2 is probably the better decision especially with growing kids. Can anyone comment on the rear seat space on the M2 whom now has it or has seen it? I haven’t been able to see one as of yet. |

I sold my 992 and am replacing it with an M2 if it ever arrives. The 992 back seats are more for show and for a few groceries bags, it's basically a 2 seater asie from maybe kids under 5yrs
G87 M2 can fit an adult human somewhat comfortably |

I’ve been to the Porsche dealership a couple of times now, and we all fit in at the moment with some decent space to grow into as well for the kids but just not sure how long before they will start to feel uncomfortable in the back as I want to keep the car for a decent amount of time.
The one advantage is that my wife is only 5ft2 in height and myself just 5ft9 and the kids are of average height. I’d love a 911 as it is my dream car but maybe it isn’t as practical as the G87 M2. How do others on here with kids feel about the M2 vs 911 as a family car?? |

I won’t be getting a four door, as I specifically want a more ‘sportier’ car and two door coupe. We have another four door if needed on certain lengthier journeys.

If you care about your kids, give them a real backseat and get an M2. If you only care about buying the most overhyped sports car in the history of ever get the 911.
I’ve raised my kid who is 7 ONLY in our 1M since the day he was born. No issues. Packed strollers in there when he was a baby, now pack all of his baseball gear. I am sure the new M2 is even more spacious than my 1M—and with 2 kids it’s a no brainer don’t even consider the cramped and absurd 911 rear seats.

Here is what I would do, get the G87. And also get a used 991.1. Best of both world. Personally speaking for hauling two toddlers we have X7 and Macan S. I was in the 2 door band wagon pretty much all of my life except when my daughter was born, sold my M2C and got a G80C. Now sold my G80 and plan to get back to G87.

I agree M2 all day, if you want something fairly practical. I tried to talk myself into the 992, but it's just too small for daily use. And crazy expensive at the moment, and for the foreseeable future.
Save the 911 for when the kids are older and no longer want to be in your backseat. |

I'm 1.75m / 5'9" tall and have just enough headroom in the back of our M2. My son who is 1.90m / 6'3" tall can sit in the drivers seat and I have just enough knee room behind him, or plenty of knee room if the drivers seat is in my driving position.

I don't think the roof choice affects rear headroom? Wasn't there a thread with pics and everything showing that all the assemblies stop short of the rear slope? Maybe my memory is bad.

I've been in the back of a G87. I'm 5' 10". I sat in the driver's seat and adjusted it for sport driving ie. fairly close to the steering wheel. Then I sat in the back seat on the driver's side. I had a lot of knee room but my head was scraping the roof. Just imagine going over bumps with your head scraping the roof already. I think 5'8" is about it for the back seat of the G87 unless you want to have your head kinked for the whole trip.

Yeah that's true. Some people have long torsos etc. I'm fairly well proportioned. I'll have to admit that I scrape the roof in the back when I sit up straight. If I slouch down and let my knees rest on the seat back then the clearance is ok.
