most reviews seem kinda 'meh'. joe achilles thinks every bmw is nice so i could care less what he thinks

throttle house, car magazine, and straight pipes all bagged on the looks. throttle house didn't really like the car much at all. more grip / less fun. would not recommend. most reviews said the f87cs was better.

only positive i'm seeing is that its interior is better than the outgoing model.

and its got cast wheels ?? wtf

Joe Achilles said "the front end is not as good as it is on the M3/M4" when he first drove it and now is backing that up after street driving. Wonder why that is with them sharing so many components. Could be the wheel base differences?

Wait a minute, "a whole second"? Are you suggesting a Comp G8x does it in 2.6-2.8 seconds?

Something off about the Throttle House review. They're entitled to their opinion, but it was definitely very biased.

Throttle House confirming the wheels are cast, not forged.

That is a shame.

Keep in mind people, in regards to all these reviews, that opinions are like @$$hole$, everyone has one. These various opinions are not the Holy Grail.

Old news, we had that figured out months ago. It was also confirmed prior to the press embargo expiring.

Really agree on your comments about Joe. Don’t get me wrong some of his videos are fun, but he’s totally a BMW fan boy

Completely agree with Achiles part, he is so biased and all his reviews are the same ; boring and not from an objective point of view.

Something to keep in mind, come April 8th or thereabouts the opinions of owners with HEAs in their driveways will be invaluable! Proof is in the pudding.

In the BMW Blog interviews with M directors last week the BMW employees themselves position the M2 as the “fun” car and the M4 as the performance car.

In the F87 forums a few people choose to keep the OE PSS tires over the more common PS4S upgrade - because again they say the PS4S take away some of the car’s fun.

Personally I don’t slide my car that often on the road, so its not that important to me. But I get that some people really like how easily it loses grip while remaining easy to control.
Though now at around 19:00 in the BMW Blog review, he says that BMW purposefully chose to make it less playful so it could perform better on the track (in the context of the C Pillar design). But so that just sounds totally different from what the other BMW employees were saying in last week’s interview. Confusing.

Whatever. I’m sure it’s a fun car to drive.

I'm enjoying the particular type of F87 driver that's here, cherry picking the reviews to self-soothe.

Surely you guys aren't in the Toyota Supra forum reminding people your car is superior, so why does the new M2 make you so sweaty?

The F87 is great. You're lucky to own it. Relax.

I hate to say it, but the reviews are really talking me out of the manual, and therefore maybe the M2.

I’d hoped that they would say the manual version was magical and worth giving up a little power. Sounds like the auto is the more fun as well.

If I’m going to get an auto, I might as well get the M3 xdrive and get more power and AWS and 4 doors.

I’m disappointed so far 😓

It's also really weird that Top Gear scored it 7/10 - that's bad for them. Again complaing about the same thing as Throttle House - design and weight. Idk...I trust MotoMan and print media a lot because of the sheer volume of stuff they drive.

Throttle House is about fun, and these two seemed hungover and irritated the whole time. It was like watching an old married couple in a bad way.

Enjoying these reviews for what they are: pure entertainment. Except for BMWBLOG's video which has the added benefit of being educational.

I'd doubt it would be achievable otherwise

The M4CSL is said to do it in 3.7s so I'm really surprised at the 2.8s statement

The M2CS is selling for well over $110,000. I’m not sure how that’s a bargain.

The last two auctions on BaT and Pcarmarket were $82,500.

They may be more in the future now that the g87 manual reviews were so bad.

Looks like the car was low on gas. If through their whole run it was low on gas then I think it cuts power.

Exterior looks weird. Not good or horrendous.

Cast wheels? WTF. Every F generation M car had forged wheels at stock. They stealing this Cast Cheap move from porsche.

Interior is the only thing that looks way better, except for the long screen.

BMW manuals have always felt rubbery and sluggish. I don’t know how people here are surprised. If you want a good new 6 speed, either go to porsche or honda.

About weight, the previous m2 weighted in almost the same as the previous m4. Don’t understand how is a surprise that the new m2 is heavy since we know the m4 is heavy.

Looks way better than the frankly soft F87 ever did—-despite its weird looks.

what bothers me most is the 3900lb weight, that is very disturbing.

The refinement also bothers me—I felt the F87 was too refined, so this takes that to the next level ugh.
