I don't think anything is off with this picture. The spoiler wraps around the trunk lip just as you were requesting, hence why you can't see the angled down portion.

Right, it performs one additional trick which is taking away one of the two elements of the rear deck - it attaches above and behind the top crease creating a smooth flow from the bottom one and up.

I have the CS version which is a bit smaller.

While I love the outer sections, fitment and general size, the center section does not meet the edge of the rear deck. I am simplistic person and this is a bit quirky to me. It reminds me a bit too much of the weird cutout of the diffuser.
