Nice! I'll have to check with my CA to see what he says. Genius call today told me it should be arriving at the port any minute now. So I'm really confused with the timing!

Have you picked up your car yet, or are you still waiting?

Still waiting, they just got it today, so I’ll get it by this weekend, unless I have some work meetings get canceled, which never happens..

Mine is still in "ready for transport" and I haven't heard anything about a ship assignment yet.

Do these ships have different routes?

Like, are there some that stop by Galveston, and others that don't?

I'm just noticing that the Ace only had two stops (neither were Galveston) last time around...unless that list of stops is not comprehensive.

I'm not an expert on shipping but from what I can tell there are ships that hit US ports and ships that don't. The Ace has for sure stopped at ports that have BMW receiving.

The history you can see without paying is limited.

So my CA called me and said they think it's the MP HAS that's keeping me at the port a bit longer than anticipated. It's still within the expected times of many others, so not the biggest deal.

But here's a curveball I didn't expect to hear: he said that the vehicles that are supposed to go to the Galveston (Texas) port, it gets there by train.

This is the first I'm seeing of this. Can anyone else actually confirm that's the case at all? Did others who got their vehicles coming in through Galveston get them via ship or train?

I guess it doesn't matter to me, but just thought it was weird to not have heard that even once.

Some of the feedback from your CA doesn't add up to me. My understanding is that the MP HAS kits are installed once they get to a US port at the vehicle processing centers. And I also thought they transport by boat only to get to the US. This is based on how others have talked about their car delivery process.

Texas bound cars do not go by rail. They absolutely come into the port on a ship.

Yup. I've never heard of any cars coming by rail.

The timing of the MP HAS is also weird, because if we assume it's still awaiting a ship on the Mexico side, then it DEFINITELY is not waiting on the MP HAS at all.

I think it could be one of two likely things:

1) they literally don't know what they're talking about at some level
2) they are scrambling to tell me SOMETHING, leading them to mix information up

I'm not that worried about it, since it's still well within the expected timeline of other people's experiences so far...

Also, I do have to say that each call to the GENIUS has mentioned a ship, so... LOL
