Get the auto. Once you’ve shifted a manual Porsche, it ruins you for anything else. Plus it seems like BMW put a lot more effort into the automatic than the manual. The auto is truly a great pairing with the S58 IMO. And you still can shift if you want.

This is pretty worthless without actual details in the trade if you are actually looking for advice.

Not being upside down is not an actual measurement just like getting $1k off for lord knows why is not either.

Your jeep has a market value… you should probably understand it before you trade one way or another

We shouldn't need to talk you or out of anything. Unless it's jumping off a bridge. Lol

You said you love it and hate the Jeep. What else is there to really say?

I had a 911S and I still enjoy the manual in the M2. Feels the same as my E92 M3s I owned. I wouldn't have even bought this car of it just had the auto.

Thanks, I'm not financially illiterate. My question was not finance related, it was about the car. As far as market value, their trade in amount is 3k above what it is worth and market value. And the $1k is listed as "autonation discount", as I've bought several cars from them, so that is the lord why

I'm not a manual vs auto guy, both have their pros... but you cannot "shift" an auto.

Why are you getting the same car again? You already have an M3 and the M2 is not going to be that different.

All good, there will always be the MT vs AT battles (with many reasons supporting both sides and why neither is right or wrong).

It’s vastly different. It’s a completely different feeling and looking car. ID8.5 vs ID7 is a completely different experience as well.

M3 vs M4 is much closer to the same thing vs M2 vs M3 IMO.

I disagree partially. It’s the same chassis and overall system, so it’s almost the same car. I own a G80 and have driven the M2 and I felt it was less stable. Front end felt loose and not connected like my G80. It’s probably the smaller size of the G87 that makes it a little less stable. I wanted to get the G87 myself being an M2C owner but I chose the G80 instead and kept the last gen M2C, especially after modifications done to it. The F series M2C is a different animal.

My suggestion is to keep the G80 and buy something more edgy and unique. That’s something you would need to figure out and test drive more cars. Maybe look at Porsche? Or grab an E90 M3?

I also own a F87 with an upgraded suspension setup. The F series M2C is a different animal.
We all feel what we feel. No harm there.

But I just left my 2nd G80 M3 for an M2 and they feel totally different to me from a daily driving standpoint. I would agree that the M3 is a nicer car all around. But I am having a blast in my M2. Its agile and fun to whip around.

I would totally agree that the F series is another animal. I had 3 of those too. Raw and dangerous! lol. Gosh I sure miss my F80 DCT. That was a fun ride.

I'm currently selling my G82 and ordered a G87. The G87 is more edgy and unique. The looser feel is exactly what I am looking for as well, both on the track and on the street. I'll get a Porsche when they aren't overpriced (ie used!) and I no longer need usable back seats.

Simple. Buy it. The best car you can get for the price. Probably what you expected to hear but if you dont like it you can always sell it later. I daily mine and love it! Just get some extra cash to make some much needed mods (mishi skid plate, air intake mesh, new brake pads, etc.)

Good luck. Post here if you buy it.

I’ve owned a F80 M3 and F80 M3 CS. I’ve tracked a F87 M2 and F87 M2 Competition several times. The F87 made me fall in love with the M2. Very fun to drive. I considered an F87 but the used prices are still high and interest rates made me choose the G87 because I still wanted the S58 and newer tech.

Nice!!
F87 prices still high is a good sign! In that case I guess go for the best case scenario.
