I suppose it is a self defense mechanism on the part forum members to focus primarily on 'how it looks' . . . which is what BMW is hoping
Consumers have spoken and nobody wants these environmental catastrophes . . . particularly driving enthusiasts Unfortunately, BMW went full-in on the agenda and cannot seem to put the brakes on production of these 2+ tone atrocities that nobody wants ///Avera |

Not sure how you see the size but it'll be smaller than the current one, hood is shorter, trunk is shorter.

Seems like BMW trynna include little fan service too all those who liked the blocky older M3s with smaller grills. Shiz looks ugly. And I wanted to trade in my g80 after 10 years 🤦🏻

Considering nobody’s driven one or knows any technical details/specs, what should we be focusing on here? We barely have an idea what it’ll look like

I am interested at 1200hp/1200tq with 4 independent motor vectoring..at $75k...it would just be added to my BMW fleet, not replacing anything

Very short front nose compared to ICE. In electric this design looks much better and proportional. Same ICE was disjoined and looked like new 5.

It is rumored that BMW will include truck driving lessons for every purchase, as the car will wait more than 3 tons

Best M3 of all time will be electric, once the weight issue is resolved - considering EVs will be lighter than ICE cars eventually - also much faster, with much better weight balance, and much better smoothness with way more control over the motors.
Those who're upset that there will be an electric M3 are the problem with the world. Their existence is bad for all of us - not just from protecting environment POV but also being close minded, against change and innovation. Also, if BMW doesn't make an electric M, they have to kill the M brand.

No it won't be much heavier than the ICE model, as it will be on bespoke neue klasse platform unlike i4 and i5. The only bespoke BMW model, which is the iX, is lighter than BMW X5 50e, lighter than X7, and just 200lbs heavier than X5 60i.

But a tesla model 3 Perf. is quite heavy, around 1860 kg, and yet it was fully developed as an electric vehicle since the start. It also doesn't have the performance mechanical parts (suspensions, wheel, fat tires, etc.) that a futur M car will need to be really a performance car around a track. So with current tech, I don't really believe it will be lighter than the (already very heavy) current M3. Just look at a Rimac Nevera, one of the most exotic and powerful electric car, it's still around 2.2 tons (yet it has not budget cap and use exotic materials).

No thanks! EV’s are not the future and that has been proven by other manufacturers that tried. They’ve halted production and started to reverse course in their claims of an EV future.
EV’s lose over 50% of their value within the 1st year. That’s 4-5% depreciation a month. Tesla, Audi, Porsche, Ford, Chevy & Dodge all have similar results and their quarterly earnings reflect that no one buys them. As far as environmentally friendly that is a also a narrative pushed by the political agenda. Last edited by hova00; 12-13-2024 at 06:19 AM.. |

I went from a line of decent BMW's: E39 540i 6spd, 2 e46 M3's, e92 335i 6spd, E90 M3, an F82 M4cs Now I have an RS e-tron GT. I'm looking forward to going back to BMW, and their current i4 line-up is too softly suspended (we have an i4 x-drive40e as well), so I am looking forward to an actual M version. Looks like a cross between a 3rd gen TL (the cool looking mid-2000's) in the mid-section, an Alfa Romeo 159 from the rear angle, mixed with a modern version of an E30 3-series front end. Sign me up if the specs are great, this is looking wonderful. |
