Get the M2, and see if you can negotiate it down further. I bought a very similar spec and I'm extremely happy with it.
FWIW I turo-ed both the manual and auto versions, and ended up not liking the feel of the manual as much as I would have liked. What matters in the end is how much you like this spec - Don't listen to a bunch of internet strangers telling you that the spec is/isn't good. |

Biased for the M2, but I’m not a fan of that spec OP. What’s the total $ amount of the 2025 M240i you’re eyeing compared to your top end spec on an M2?
IMO- I’ve seen lots of people become bored with the M240i. It is a fantastic machine, but aside from X drive (which M2 gets soon) the B58 is inferior in the top end, not to mention the M2 feels like a completely different beast on the road with spirited driving. If this is a daily commuter to zip around in traffic, I can see why a 2024 M240i would be fitting. But if this is your “fun car” if you can, I’d reccomend the extra cash on an M2 if it makes sense in your life. |

since both car at the same dealership, drive them back to back and see which one you like more!
both are great car, one is awd, one is rwd with more power. this is a m2 forum, we are mostly biased toward the m2 here! and know to yourself that you can negotiate more discount on the demo m2. |

Power: Lists the invoice price as $59,275, with a range of final prices paid by customers between $57,333 and $69,079. Road & Track: Lists the invoice price as $60,450. You need to give the car a pretty thorough used car check out. Yes. It was used as a demo so the car is used. And part of your car check out has you asking to see what services the car has had. Even though the car has not covered 1200 miles it is probably over a year old and should have had an oil/filter service. If the car passes your check out and the car has received a based on time oil/filter service and you are sure you are comfortable with the fact the car was a demo then make a $60,000 offer (or even less it is up to you of course and you can always increase your offer) and if it is rejected turn around and prepare to walk off the lot. I would be surprised if you made it off the lot before being called back and eventually end up buying the car. Oh be sure you present your offer to the sales manager/general manager. The salesman will almost certainly say "no" to your offer but he's not the final word on the matter. The sales manager/general manager I bet would be while not happy to take your offer realize/accept it ain't that bad. And you would drive off in the car. If it has 500 miles, what you definitely want to know is the "in service" date. It may not have been registered but as the previous poster said, the warranty clock starts when the "put the car in service". If they put it in service 6 months ago, your warranty is 2.5 years I think.

But the flip side is none should be priced *higher* than the car one is looking at. I make it a point to show the manager my list. He'll get the message. If he sees me walk off the lot without the M2 he'll know I won't be back because I'll buy a car at another dealer. |

I'll add this. I drove a manual M2 and an auto M240. For all around daily single car I'd get the M240. Little joke but I had to Google how to put the M2 in reverse. I never had any issues with any other car but for some reason I couldn't get the trick. I just wasn't pushing hard enough to overcome the resistance built in. Last car was a Subaru with a lockout and before that a lot of five speeds and no issues.
Both have similar exterior looks, same interior. B58 is a very capable engine and paired with the xdrive it will walk all over the M2 around town. Top end isn't as bad as everyone says as you're beating the M2 from a dig and through 90% of the race. If you're cutting the back roads or track a lot then the M2 will be the better choice. Add in the xdrive M2 and that decision swings more into the favor of the M2 for either scenerio. Honestly based on how you like the spec I don't think you'll have a problem with either car. |

Get the M2. You’ll always wonder what the M2 would’ve been like as a M240 owner but never the other way around. You have room to negotiate as this car is a demo.

This “better” discussion is really wasted energy. Some limp wristed ignorant nimrod from California jumped into my sh** here very early Saturday morning about the M2 unequivocally as the better car. ^^ Thankfully the moderators pulled the submission but it was consistent with his posting history i.e. lacking intelligence, emotional stability, and reasoning.
Better is what the owner/driver prioritizes. It’s not complicated. 0-60? Track ability? Comfort around town? Gas mileage? Handling? Road conditions? Weather? Matrimonial harmony? Mod friendly? And on and on and on. I own both cars and on any given day, the better car depends on what we’re doing and where we’re going. The 230i is better than both of them lolol. I get better gas mileage and can still get to over 100+ mph easy. Also the 230i is the best looking of the bunch. My Thundernight Metallic for $650 looks better than whatever purp is offered on the M2 for like 5000+ lolllll.
