Also ice cream. And crisps/chips. Basically any snack is at risk of being consumed one pack at a time. |

****I guess potato chips, tortilla chips w/salsa or Guac, nuts, popcorn, ice cream.
I generally serve myself whatever in a smallish bowl and thankfully usually have the self control to keep from going back, or eating so much I get physically sick from it. I try to be very pro active about my health including my weight, work out a lot, ride/race bikes, etc.. I'm thankful to not be on any medications, nor need a CPAP, don't have diabetes or high bp or cholesterol, etc.. To me at least, nothing tastes as good as being healthy, thin, fit and able to move well. I have colleagues and friends from work, college, high school, etc... that have not been as cognizant of their health and they have aged very very poorly - several with heart, kidney, liver disease or metabolic issues almost certainly brought upon or hastened by very poor eating habits - usually over eating, not exercising enough or vigorously enough, and drinking too much alcohol. 76% of American adults are overweight and now 1 in 6 adults has diabetes. Diabetes is considered a heart disease equivalent and type 2 diabetes basically makes every other disease worse. I work in the medical field and do my best to not let myself become like many of my patients, some of my friends, and many many other people I know. I enjoy good/great food but am very careful about portion control, and not just eating an entire 2 lbs bag of nuts at a sitting, or an entire family sized bag of chips with salsa, etc... Not worth it to me after seeing the resultant over the long haul in people functionally incapacitated from poor lifestyle habits, and who frankly look *terrible* even at less than advanced age. Oh yea.. Cheeseballs! |
