Bisbing was manufactured to get fans from England to follow the sport. He got wins over average fighters and talked a lot of trash while doing it. I'm glad they finally matched him up with a real fighter. I love how Henderson said he knew Bisbing was knocked out cold after his first punch. He usually lets up after that and lets the ref stop the fight, but not this time. He immediately threw another flying punch to make sure to shut Bisbing up.

You gotta remember that GSP is close to Olympic caliber in his wrestling skills. That one "All access" showed him wrestling with the Canadian Olympic team on a consistent basis, and he's probably the best wrestler in the UFC. He even made Kos look bad, and Kos was (IIRC) an NCAA all-american.

From Yahoo...
The greatest beneficiary of each Lesnar snarl, however, lives in Stary Oskol, Russia, a man named Fedor Emelianenko who is considered the No. 1 heavyweight (if not pound-for-pound fighter) in the world. If anyone has the knockout power to stop the 6-3, 265-pound Lesnar, it’s Emelianenko. Fedor doesn’t fight in the UFC though. He’s with its rival promotion, Affliction. He’ll fight Aug. 1 in Anaheim, Calif., in what is the last match of his contract. Affliction is hoping to re-sign him until 2012, but the UFC will come hard after him. More now then ever. And that means money, big money. “Eventually Fedor is going to be here,” White said. “I want Fedor. We’ll end up getting that deal done and then we’ll do Brock vs. Fedor and we’ll do a huge fight.” |

I picked Alves from the beginning because his strong kicks on his feet but obviously GSP did a great job of countering that. But I still think you have to give Alves some credit. He got taken down once, twice, maybe even three times a round but still managed to escape almost every time. And without any significant damage.
GSP is going to be on top alittle longer, but i think Koscheck will come back and beat Alves in a rematch and then eventually get to fight GSP again. Besides his 2 losses, Koscheck has been his best fight and believe me, is still learning. |

No way Kos beats Alves if they should rematch, and no way he beats Fitch. Fitch looked tough in his fight, and much improved after his loss to GSP.
Alves is just a beast, he was probably walking around after the weigh in at 200 pounds or so, if not more. Like number335 said, Alves used his physical size and strength to get up, moreso than technique.

I hate lesnar. AHHHHHHHH!!! Fedor please come to ufc and kill this guy.
I think GSP is an amazing fighter but i really thought Alves was going to get him this fight, i was wrong and GSP is a deserving champion. Alves needs to work on his ground game big time. |
