The only car i regretted buying was a 2006 Q45. It was brand new and had a very nice promotion which made me buy it. I hated that car the moment i drove it out the dealer. Sold it after 8 months and with a huge deprecation hit.
Lesson learned from that experience, do not ever buy a car before test driving it even it has a 20% off discount!

I've never regretted a car purchase due to a lack of research but I did buy the first year of the Altima SE-R as my DD which had constant clutch problems. Nothing in my research turned up the issue as it was a new model with a unique transmission setup. It was a lease and I happily tossed the keys back to them. Other than that I really enjoyed the car but it was like driving a different car every time I turned it on (clutch never engaged in the same place twice).
