Hey all... my BG M240ix was status code 165 last Thursday, BMW online chat telling me estimated handover in Scotland, UK, is week commencing 16th Jan.

Anyone else from the UK in a similar position? Waiting to see if I can find what ship the car's going to be put on, been checking the Tampico Port - but most seem headed for the US.

Edit: just checked with BMW Genius team, and my car is status 195, so now At Sea to Southampton UK, this was updated on Friday 16th Dec. Trying to find the container ship on Marine Traffic, but can't see any with UK destinations...

Think I’m on the Glovis Star with the rest of the in transit folks, but I’m wondering if anyone knows roughly how long it takes for the car to be ready once at the dealer? Allegedly the ship arrives in baltimore on the 26, and I ordered from a dealer approximately 50 miles from there. Heading out of town on the 29 so if I could get it on the 29 or before (to drive for that trip) that would be awesome.

There's a ton of variables. My car was unloaded off a ship on the 11th. Got to the dealer yesterday and I was informed I can pick it up today. Took a full week for me, probably less for most.

Actually, I think I've read that a week is close to average. I think 2 weeks is the worst case. I believe they inspect the cars at the port/VDC and also other things like decoding features, etc.

Could weather affect things? End of this week is allegedly bringing a snowpocalypse to northern illinois where I am. I dont know where that storm is coming from or where its headed afterwards. Hopefully it doesnt back things up at the coast.

My SA emailed me yesterday to say that my car is loaded onto a trailer and is awaiting a truck to bring it north.

Due to my schedule, I won't be able to pick it up until the 31st. Gonna be a long week and a half...

My dealer called me this morning and told me that i have an allocation for January. The expected arrival date in Europe is first half of March.
They expect to have VIN before year ends.

Is MyGarage down on bmwID? Waiting for mine to get on the truck to the dealer and keep refreshing the tracker to see if I was flipped back to “in transit” but now I cant even get myGarage to load since this morning

You may need to completely log out of MyBMW and log in again. Or clear your browser's cache.

So those of us who all switched to In Transit that day last week that are going to east coast, when are we expecting our cars. I’m assuming i’m on the same ship as you guys i was in ready to transport since nov 21st and switched the same day as all of you. Going to Pittsburgh.
I heard people saying it gets unloaded right after xmas so we should have it first week of january?

If you call your CA, they should tell you when the boat will be pulling into your port. From there it should normally take a week, at most 2 weeks to get to the dealership. From my understanding, this is the best way to get a timeline if you dont want to pay for satellite ship tracking.

This is the boat. People here said its supposed to land in Baltimore on the 26th. I dont know which website tells them that or if its a paid account that gives more detail. But if its in Baltimore on the 26th, it cant take but maybe a week at most to process and arrive in Pittsburgh?

Got an E-Mail from CA to tell me my car will be at dealer by end of year.
I am coming into Baltimore and then trucked up to MIchigan. Blizzard this weekend shouldn't change much since it will be gone by first of week. MY Ca hasn't been much help for past 8 months so I am skeptical as it will be here in next 10 days.
I suspect first week of January 2023.
By the way do I really need this car during a blizzard ?

Will be watching for other's deliveries next week.

The way I have felt, is that regardless of how excited I am to receive it ASAP... I would rather not even have the car until spring. After delivery, I will put it straight into storage. So I would have preferred it not be exposed to a journey across saltworld MD to IL. I ordered when I did, because they said it would come in April, which we quickly realized was very incorrect.

You could try talking to your Client Advisor and asking if they can see a work order that is causing the delay

I was able to find a somewhat local dealer (1.5hr drive) that had an open allocation.

9/30 - order placed, deposit, order accepted
10/6 - scheduled for production
10/26 - production started
11/8 - body shop, paint shop, assembly started
11/10 - production completed
11/17 - ready for transport
12/8 - loaded onto Lyra Leader
12/16 - at port Oxnard, CA
12/21 - in transit, arrive at dealer
