I’m at status 165, awaiting transport to Bremerhaven. Deposit paid and order in on 3/16. How are you lads tracking the boats, we don’t have the ability to web track in the UK?

Looks like the Glovis Sun has left Veracruz. Sounds like we won’t know if we’re on the boat for another 2 days based on the tracking guide on the G8x forum.

Based on multiple posts here, it's pretty common for the tracker to stay on RFT and then jump to "In Transit" a couple of days after the ship leaves the port. The tracker is a nice idea, but it's updated so poorly that it's kind of useless. I'm also on RFT but know for a fact that my car is for sure on its way to the port and very likely at the port. So my tracker will just skip "Awaiting Carrier Assignment", "Dispatched From the Factory" and "At the Port".

Glovis Sun has left Veracruz, so anyone who has a car on that ship should see their status flip to "In Transit" some time tomorrow or Monday at the latest.

Ahh shoot. Good catch, I think I mistyped that. I believe it was 195 and listed as "in transit." It's 193 now, but Genius confirmed it was as the VPC in California.

That's exciting!! Please keep us posted on how HAS installation goes as well, I wish mine caught the cepheus would have been perfect timing. I also go HAS so still hoping early June is plausible

G8x tracking thread says the following:

“About 2 days after you are on a ship that has left port, BMW Genius can also provide the name of the ship and estimated date of arrival at your port of destination.”

So yeah, seems like Mon or Tues they’ll know if we’re on it or not. Crossing my fingers.

I did call the genius line yesterday & she said, "your car is in transit to port but still shows ready for transport. I can tell you no carrier has been assigned yet."

She was a really fun lady, cracking up at my jokes about the wait & cracking her own. She said she loves the new M2, her favorite current BMW coupe. She even said she loves hearing the excitement of owners calling about their cars & their enthusiasm. She said the reps really enjoy the calls, talking with waiting new owners, keeping them excited about the buying process. Super nice lady!!

I had a similar experience with most of the GENIUS people. I sort of cracked one of those "I'm sorry, but I'm one of those annoying guys who ordered a car and will call in frequently and bug you guys" type of thing, but they responded very similarly to what you said...that they actually enjoy checking on the status of ordered cars.

Order made today!! I had a build order for an M240i at my local dealership and for fun asked my Sales Advisor about ordering an M2. He says he had an open allocation for one. After a few days of thinking about it, I decided to go for the M2.

Was told it should be around 2-3mos. for delivery. Now the waiting begins. This will be my first BMW and looking forward to it. That was good info. After 29 days at ready for transport (165) my car changed status to At the port (193). Hope everyone else updated as well.

Same here - production date of 4/8 and just switched to 193 today.
