I just hate how busy it always is - especially if you're restricted to going in the evening after work, seems impossible to get on any of the machines that you want. I quit the gym for this very reason.

Damn guys where do I even start?
1. Dudes who are "using" 3-4 sets of Dumbbells. 2. Curling in the squat rack. 3. Guys who try to circuit like 5 pieces of machinery. 4. Doing heavy dumbell presses and then dumping the weights. ( I have seen two iPhones/Numberous water bottles and a key fob crushed by people dumping weights and other people's stuff getting ruined because of it ). There's so much more, but off the top these things definitely piss me off the most. |

I wonder if there's liability associated with crushing someone's iphone by dropping weight (say, when completed with dumbbell chest press)...it wouldn't quite be negligence because dropping the dumbbells is pretty common and likely recommended in order to avoid injury, esp. with heavier weights...iPhone owner could argue that he put the iPhone on the ground in his limited space, because there was nowhere to put it (let's assume he doesn't wear pants with pockets...prob true for all females who wear yoga pants...) I'm talking when someone puts their iPhone in a pretty vulnerable spot on the ground, but it's hooked up to their earbuds... I would say no liability on weight dropper's part, likely gym owner's liability for negligently failing to instruct customers not to drop weight/put iPhone in vulnerable spots...even if he put it in terms and conditions, might be a good case... |

In addition, lifting in a controlled manner takes more strength that ego lifting and dumping weights. Also I agree with you that using weights for drop sets are necessary. However, hoarding the 4+ sets of dumbells in peak times is discourteous and ridiculous no matter what drop set your doing. |

Yes because the people who bring their phone for music also use them to dick around in ig, fb and other cult shit. I find having to deal with headphones a pia and don't wanna deal with that either.

People that use equipment backwards because they watched a video on you tube and it said they would make gain by doing so.
People that sweat all over the place and don't clean it up. People that don't re-rack their weights. Guys that dont wear shoes in around the urinals and toilets. Guys that stay naked and walk around the locker room and shave their faces. I am guilty of checking my phone between sets. It only bothers me if they are doing it for a long time and not just during their rest periods between sets. |

Oh and people that make videos of their friends working out when they dont have a clue on how to work out.
The guy that is taking pics of them self posing. The fat guy that always wears his weight belt and curls 90lb dumb bells. You know its bad when your gym takes apart the cable machine because to many people are hurting them self's |

Such intensity in here. You guys have to be the biggest, strongest, hardest working MFers in the gym. Were you looking at me? Don't look at me Little Puppet. I'll crush your phone and your frail body. This is my gym. You see that sign? It doesn't say Planet Fitness, it says my name. What's my name! What's my name!!! Now sit on the floor while I slam this shaker of whey before my anabolic window closes.

Agreed, if you are using your phone for social media that's bs. However, if your using it for music is a different story.

Got a new one: This dude started coming into our small gym (size of a conference room) the past 2 weeks. Mind you it's early in the damn morning (I'm basically still asleep) and the guy is listening to talk radio on a boombox. I want to work out in peace and quiet. I've had to ask to lower the damn radio and use my earplugs. Who the f*ck listens to talk radio while working out? It's a sports show, but talk about only politics. EVEN WORSE. Bring a Walkman with your own headphones, people don't want to hear that shit.
Hopefully it's one of these whimps that will drop out after a few weeks. Last edited by shay2nak; 02-03-2017 at 01:19 PM.. |

What if using you're using your phone at the gym to get onto e90post and rant about things that annoy you at the gym?
