Top of the wing is just black carbon. I don't see a logo there, check f1's instagram page for a pretty clear picture of the rb18. It is just raw carbon.

Okay waiting for the afternoon session, morning session Max ran the most laps and it was Leclerc and Russell doing the most aggressive ones with Lec getting the faster one.

Nah I can't pick because I really don't care lol. I'm just happy right now because all these cool cars are out and we get to analyze them. Most of them except the Haas and RB, haven't changed from their launch. So the teams are really forth coming this year. I mean they will have to be with the new show and tell rules.


On a side note, dang that ferrai is fast.

They've simply turned the boost up for a quick time.

Coming on a lot but this is important in that all cars appear to be ''porpoising'' though it's not sure which are the worst. It was apparent on ground effect cars in the 80's and as no video footage is available from Barcelona it can't be seen how it affects these cars and it could be worse with the 18 inch wheels.

I think I trust Newey to deliver on an aero package more than anyone else so this is kind of amazing to see.

My scope of experience with wind tunnels is limited to static tall/odd shaped structures here in the city but without being an expert in fluid mechanics there's some really fundamental design features of the sidepods of the Redbull that is making me really confident that they are going to be FAST. I can't say for sure because maybe Ferrari or Mercedes have figured some particular things in CFD but from a really simplified streamline sketch - the Redbull seems reeeeally efficient in design.

Redbull aero team focused hard on underbody downforce.
