I believe Max and Lando are friends. Commentator mentioned the hammy comment to the drivers. Max chimed in “yeah Landon you are a GREAT driver..” bottas, Max and Landon chuckled collectively. I’m sure Max and Bottas have been subjected to similar hammy comments in the past, so it was a rite of passage for Landon to the world of superficially kind words served with a side of superiority and condescension.

C'mon people "Shamilton"? That's just plain ridiculous. The guy is a seven times champion, arguably one the best drivers of all time (if not THE best), and really hasn't put a foot wrong in all those years of being under the microscope. He's done it all, won it all, and still puts his life on the line out there everyday and competes at the top level as hungry as ever. He's the farthest thing from a sham you could possibly have. Sure he wears some weird outfits (it costs a TON of money to look that bad) and I think he's misguided on the whole BLM deal, but if that's the worst he's guilty of he's far ahead of most.

If you're like me, maybe you're just sick of the guy winning but ffs give him his dues. For somebody to win as long as he has, and to keep up such a high level for so long is just rare damned air.

The only thing in HAM diagram that pops out is that he didn't seem to profit that much from new tyres. Where most increased their lap times after a pit stop (going from worn tyres on a lighter car to new tyres on a lighter car) HAM lap times are pretty constant which is weird.

It's interesting what you say according to the graph and suggests the reduced pace from hammy is for no real reason just slowing for the sake of it.

Either that or his 2nd pair of tyres wasn't as good as his first pair.
I don't remember what his tyre strategy was.
Could be that his car (or himself) was better tuned to the one compound tyres and less to the other compound.

It can also be that he spared his tyres more to complete the 2nd stint and still have the ability to get a quick laptime at the end.
Didn't help though..

Of course the diagram is also hugely affected if drivers fight round after round for a position (as they hold eachother up), but I cant remember HAM driving closely behind another car rounds on end.

Now it is pathetic that the first thing I come back to is a scHAMilton invective. I really though we were past this and some of the other stupidity I see here. Sadly it isn't the case. This is, by far, the WORST F1 discussion on an automobile message board. It may as well be on FaceBook with a bunch of civilians. The quality is that poor. SMFH.

Additionally there is the, "I didn't realize HAM was stuck behind any cars during the race.", foolishness. He was behind NOR for quite a few laps. The damage on HAMs car can be seen graphically because his car didn't get faster as the fuel load lightened in combination with his new tires. Those two factors combined spell damaged car.

This narrative about HAM just being slower is laughable.

But that's not the data I'm talking about. HAM passed NOR in lap20 or so, way before the pitstop. The data what I'm talking about is after the pitstop where he apparently couldn't profit from new tyres the way most other cars could.

What does stroke with the data are the 3 fastest laps HAM put down. Those are lap 55, 56 and 57.
In 54 NOR passed HAM afaik.
This means he got a toe from it I guess as lap 58 was again in HAM average cloud of laps.
It can't be that he was blocking NOR all the time that may have cost him time because BOT passed HAM in 52, so it was BOT that was blocking NOR.

So I think HAMs car was not running so good on the white tyres compared to the other cars and it was a setup issue. (and not aero damage from the curb)

Agreed man. Shamilton, Lecrash, etc. Its annoying and lame. You can obsess over Max without putting down others. It takes away from what is generally a pretty civilized discussion.
