bye!
But I won't be gone too long I'm #1 on the list for the Comp, and very patient! See you later.

- Heated steering wheel, I will pass I think.
- Active Cruise Control vs ACC with Stop & Go. Is the second worth it? No Driving assistant package in Spain.

Also, why can't the M Driver's pack be optional with the carbon roof + seats? I don't need the speed increase…
What's the difference between Active Cruise Control vs. ACC with Stop & Go, as I thought ACC inherently means stop & go? Unless the latter supports standstill traffic and the former doesn't?

Also, I found this quote on the G87's press release: "The optional Active Cruise Control system with Stop & Go function (optional on vehicles equipment with the M Steptronic transmission only) maintains the chosen cruising speed while also automatically keeping a safe distance from vehicles travelling ahead, with a choice of four proximity settings."

Source: https://g42.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...o#post29423866

As a follow-up to my first question, are we sure the G87 doesn't have ACC with Stop & Go but the option is simply referred to as Active Cruise Control now? I tried finding a conclusive answer to this to no avail.

Option 5DF is Active Cruise Control with Stop and Go and requires Z91 (M Steptronic) as an option, too. If Option 2MA (Manual Transmission ) is selected, Option 544 (Cruise Control with Brake Function, AKA Dynamic Cruise Control) is selected as standard.

Okay, so the 5DF option just omits the words "Stop & Go" for whatever reason. I was confused as the initial post I quoted implied they were completely different options on the G87 - this is my first time buying a new BMW so I was unsure as to how accurate that was.

Thank you for the clarification.

Yep, my bad. In Spain they are called "Cruise Control with breaking function" and "Active Cruise Control with Stop&Go".

There won't be any ACC with 6MT on the M2, as most of you probably already know. Why? I don't get it. VW and others offer it with 6MT. I have it on my Golf R. I love it. But to do "stop & go", the car inherently needs to be an automatic.

"Stop & go" is just another "driver assistance" feature for lazy drivers IMHO. It allows you to sit back and scratch your balls, eat a cheeseburger, or post some mindless TikTok video (or all 3 at once!), while the car manages the throttle and braking for you, even in a traffic jam. Is this something ANY M2 driver actually wants?

Only on those dreaded drives home from the office in rush hour for me. Otherwise it stays off.

Smile

just a simple question to pass the waiting time for our cars :

how many of us have chosen the manual gearbox?

here in France or Spain the majority choose their vehicles with automatic gearbox whereas I am one of those who think that a true M purist must take the manual

On a forum like this, where M enthusiasts constitutes the majority, most people will say the manual. Personally it is the number one reason for me choose the M car over the M Performance model below since manual transmission here in the US is only available in the M2/3/4

We should do a 6mt vs 8at poll

What's the pricing like on these? Are most dealers asking for an ADM (i.e. mark-up above MSRP)? or are you all finding it easy to find dealers selling for MSRP?

thanks

There are dealers asking for ADM (I had one asking $10k over) but it wasn't too difficult to find multiple dealers selling at MSRP.

It's my feeling that it will be fairly easy for dealers to find people willing to pay ADM for the first few that come out. The people who want to be first will run out and dealers will drop to MSRP. That's my personal opinion. The biggest factor will be how many allocations come out. If dealers only get one or two I bet a lot of these MSRP deals will go away.

My build sheet. Dealer charged $500 fee, plus a bunch of frivolous accessories accruing to 2K over MSRP. OTD quote was 68800 with registration and what have you. Pretty base spec too.

50th badges didn't show up on order list but he put them in after the fact. Also said he expected them to drop off since it's model year 2023, anyone else heard that?

Your car would have to be a HEA car built in December to get the 50th emblems. They are EOP 12/22.

Anyone thinking of doing performance center delivery? Is that even possible with this car? Also... is it true that now performance center delivery costs extra?

Shouldn't be extra and no reason why it wouldn't be available for this car

Just did PCD on my G42 M240ix in April and I am doing the same with the G87 M2. It is a no cost option.

Congratulations on your build. Very similar to mine, except I did not get wireless charging. If you want to avoid those frivolous dealer profit add on's, request BMW Performance Center Delivery. If the car never makes it to the dealership they can't charge you for window tint, nitrogen air, special paint and interior treatments etc. etc. They still require the standard dealer doc fee and will try to hustle you for extended warranties, maintenance service contracts, dealer financing etc. I said no to all that back end finance dept. stuff.
