Heckled the chat genius for an update seeing as I strongly suspected my car was delivered to UK port a few days ago onboard the Sirius Highway.

Vehicle confirmed as being in the UK and is in temporary storage (likely over at Thorne distribution centre)

Its being delivered to my local dealer w/c 17th. I’ve just messaged my SA and asked him if he can hold off on handing over until after March 1st (For non UK folks, our 2025 registered vehicles starts on March 1st, anything prior is a 2024).

That’s good news it is in the UK, hopefully they can put a hold on it for you. Also how did you reach someone in the Genius system? Every time I tried calling it didn’t recognize my production number. I guess it only accepts US numbers. I haven’t found any live chat links on the Canadian website either

So on the BMW UK website, there's a little chat bubble icon that follows you around most of the site, we just click on that and it takes us to a chat function - whether its an AI bot or an actual human still to be determined but the responses are very rigid / scripted. I always get my query answered though.

I think the guys in the US can just track build progress through the My BMW app. I did sign up to the US site and plugged my VIN into the system but it didn't recognise the number as a US destined vehicle.

My SA message me back, he's on vacation at the moment which works nicely to naturally delay handover (He's an old family friend hence why I have his mobile number).

pie How do you know yours went straight to southhampton - bmw genius is telling mine will stop in germany and so wont be on any of the K rolls so will have start from square one on tracking. Hope you are happy in your new beemer!!

I finally have some news from my dealer, my car is expected in Bremerhaven next week, and that is consistent with the K Line schedule for Hamburg Highway.

I was told to expect delivery in the first half of March, so not that long to go now

If you're being told its stopping at Germany and skipping Southampton, I'd suggest you are looking at sailing on Sirius Highway which leaves Veracruz on 6th March and bypasses UK as a stop.
I'd assume they offload at Bremerhaven and it then catches one of their other vessels to the UK (Likely the ones that bring in the real M cars from German factories)

For my vehicle I just kept using the chat function to ask for a Status ID on the build. Once it was 165 at PoD I started second guessing which vessel it would be on and went from there.
Once Status went to 'at sea' I asked for the date that was updated and worked backwards to pin point it to a vessel - worth noting that status update dates on their system are typically a day or two after the event actually occurs.

I've not taken delivery of mine yet.
Its meant to be on its way to the local dealer from Thorne this week but I've already requested delivery to be post March 1st so its a 2025 registered vehicle.

It's worth comparing notes across all three threads.

Excited to pick up the car tomorrow though!

Lucky you. I am hoping for a Sat pickup but still stuck at the receiving port, hoping it is is really in transit to the dealership. Would prefer a weekend pickup but if I have to face rush hour traffic so be it.

Last Monday, 10 days ago, it entered production (step 3) and has remained there to this day. I called the genius line and the car is supposed to be completed by this Friday.

Others in the forum with access to F12 have reported daily incremental progress. This BMW app is huge disappointment. It is like being lied to, “you can track your car” IMHO they have given the customer an opportunity to be disappointed.

Yep. I made a similar post. App and website are pretty useless. High expectations, low results.

Mine sat at step 3 for 12 days. If you think about it, it makes sense. They have to build the panels and pieces from raw materials. Once that is done, the car then moves on to the exterior assembly which will be your next step. From there to final assembly things move really fast, within a single day for some, a couple of days at most for others.

Unless you are watching the tracking site every minute, the skipped steps happen fast.

While I agree there is a lot of room for improvement on the app side, I still think it is better than nothing and being totally in the blind as to when to expect the car.
