I am confused...

Regarding taking pride in ownership of cars. I once saw a GTR parked all far away in a Target parking lot.

I parked right next to him, hahaha He probably came out and was so pissed that I parked next to him out of all the open spots.

Oh I see how that could be confusing. That's my BMW history. Only the one that says (current) is actually current.

I used to have it say (sold) but it made my signature too cluttered.

To go back to the original question, yes cheap is relative. Parking lots around me are full of fully optioned Range Rover sports, merc g class (ugly as hell and $120,000 base price), bentleys, the occasional Ferrari, and a lot of 911s.
So yes I do drive a cheap car at 64,000 base price...but the most fun of them all!

As echoed throughout this thread, it's relative... However, my initial justification for buying the E90 is that I can pay the same amount for a Camry and not necessarily like the car and regret my decision, especially since I've had to settle for cars a few times and loathed it, such as a grandma's car (91 Buick Century), then an 04 Sentra despite showing up at the dealer for an Altima (my family kinda forced me into it for lower payments, even though I was making more than enough money).

However, ever since I had a Solara with all the bells and whistles and now the E90, I can't go back to anything without leather seating, less than 200HP, or a CVT-equipped car (it feels like the car has no oomph if you can't downshift)...

Sold my m3 and bought a $3k corolla to make my 75 mile commute to work everyday and invested the rest into a house among other things.

Best and worst decision I've ever made

There are times that I go to a place where I wouldn't want the attention of having a nice car.
