You would be driving a super doper car instead of a BMW if you can predict and execute successfully for prices (including oil).
Just drive what you can afford comfortably and stopped worrying about "the future". |

Same just happened in bible-belt Tennessee and is also discussed in many other places. The fact that these taxes that support road infrastructure have not been updated in decades is a problem. The cost of roads increases with inflation, meanwhile the price of gasoline is commodity priced very low at the moment.

Its not roads they often pay for. Each county in florida has its own tax on gas. The taxes in the liberal counties such as palm beach county have 30 cents a gallon more in taxes. Their roads aren't any better than any other counties. A more blatant example is the tolls set at bridges, etc in NYC. The tolls were created to pay for the construction of bridge x or tunnel y. So how come there are still tolls after these constructs have been paid in full for the past 30 years?
Liberals divert the tax revenues to other items almost as fast as they are passed. The liberal view is this will pay for roads and slow the use of gas and carbon emmissions. The reality is people will still drive just as much, its a tax on the poor, and the money will be diverted soon enough to help pay for the illegal alien population cost that California has that liberals desperately want because once these aliens become legal, they vote liberal more often than not, keeping the libs in power. How about writing a law that says a tax mudt pay only for what it is originally intended and preventing the diversion of the revenues and see how many liberals vote for that. |

I call it bullshit when Governor Brown said he passed for new gas tax and higher registration fee for road improvements. Roads in California have always been shitty and never improved, years after years. His agenda is to get money for his high speed rail, nothing more. Californians, don't be surprise seeing gas price in the mid $4 again.

A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

Google search where does nyc toll money go to see my point. NYC takes the excess revenuse from the bridges and tolls an uses them to pay for buses, rail, roads etc. This frees up tax moneys to pay for other things. The tolls do not pay for maintence of the structures alone.

Yes there is a common myth that the tolls were only fir building. Thats because the democrat politicians of the day said that's what it was for but it was never in writing and they knew by the time they were proven liars they'd be out of office and probably dead and they thought long forgotten. The myth now is it only pays for maintence. It doesn't as per links above. As for constitutionality of this it was challenged and lost in 2016 in federal court.
