Haters be hating...

Never ceases to amaze me the negativity brigade in this forum.

All car manufacturers today have product quality issues due to market pressures to put new cars and tech into the market competitive prices.

The result will almost surely be product quality issues that lead to recalls.

We experience this in everything we buy from food to mobile phones and even jogging shoes yet it is crazy how some people go beyond seeking compensation and fair solution to the need to personalize thier product failure to a crusade against the great evil.

BMW get your shit together... DAMN!!!
The issue here is the supplier supplying these parts... but of course at the end of the day, it's a component in a BMW.

What, Honda has electric auxiliary water pumps on their twin turbo V8’s and V12’s? How cool is that, no pun intended.

Yeah, true, but I'm a mechanical engineer and if I picked a supplier who's parts lit the products I design on fire I don't think I'd be exactly blame-free!

Agree and if these cars were $20k owners probably wouldn't care.

These recalls just contribute to to the myth of german engineering. The engineering doesn't live up to the price point.

Agreed.

Of course i understand when today's snowflakes want a perfect world filled with perfect things that always work perfectly as they desire. i mean, don't we all intrinsically know just how very important they are?

Funny how $250k Ferrari cars have recalls. You'd think at that price point.... Or how about the melting headers on the Ferrari a few years back?

----------------

Recalls happen, these cars are made of MANY parts. Of course everyone here not happy can feel free to start their own automotive company. Lamborghini did just that.

I gotta look at the service ticket from 5 years ago when I had it repaired under warranty. I think the whole jobs without warranty would have cost around $1200 I believe. I'm going to look at the service manual to see how complex it is.

My failed at 27K miles on my 335i and I don't push the car hard. I ran like at tank on my old 328 though, never had a water pump issue.

There were some on here who had theirs failed at under 20k.

Blower motor wiring was already a recall.

Had mine replaced last month.
No, this has nothing to do with the blower motor. Like I said, air comes out, just that on my side it's not cold.
It's because your refrigerant charge is low. It's an E9x, so most likely it's a leaking evaporator. Getting it serviced will prolong the inevitable replacement, which is not cheap.
I'm not sure how this has any related to the thread though.

I remember back in late 90's - early 2000's when a faulty fan switch would cause some bmw's to catch fire.

Just don't get into a rear-end accident with this one

Buy a Bentley GTC and you had better garage it. In fact don't even drive it during hot weather! Hot weather could mean the rear window will simply fall out of the convertible top. Hot weather may also cause an air hose to melt above the transmission, a common issue, and that is a $5000 engine-out fix (new top to fix glass window is only $17,000).

No recalls tho from Bentley.

BMW offers recalls so i'd be happy. The VW Group's Bentley brand, they just don't seem to care at all.

If that is true about the Bentleys and happened to one of your cars, we'll bring a lawsuit for you. That is a plain defect that we'll make them fix and get you taken care of, too. VW is dirty. Email me: tutorhelp07@gmail.com.

You guys think you get screwed? lol

BMW NA issues some recalls to the US that they don't even extend or honor up here in Canada. Legitimately same car models and for the same years.... but the recalls isn't extended.

For example that awesome turbo recall. Ya we all had to pay out-of pocket up here if we wanted those lemons replaced. That makes zero sense.

These water pumps have been failing for YEARS now. I am onto my third water pump; the last one lasted me 10,000 km before it failed.

Class action would be best. Post at 6Speed Bentley board as quite a few of us...

I wish they'd recall mine too so I don't have to replace it before it fails

Negativity? Lol. My neighbour's house was gutted out because of a car fire AND he parked in the driveway as per BMW's suggestions in this case (car in question was not a BMW though). I get to stare at what the result of that looks like every day. Five months later he's still living in a motel waiting for the insurance company to sort it out and not a single board has been removed from the remains to start the rebuild. So yeah, I would prefer my consumer purchases don't catch fire. But you're right, I'm just being negative. And a snowflake (we melt faster in fire, y'know).
